Just a casual reminder not to comment on people's weight. It doesn't matter if they lost or gained because you don't know what's going on in their lives, if they're sick, or what. And it's not your business.

The reason they make you do group project at school is as a preventative measure against falling into conspiracy theories as an adult. The vast majority of the population can and will come out of the experience with a much better understanding of just how goddamn impossible it is to make multiple people do what they were supposed to do, everything they were supposed to do, and nothing but what they were supposed to do. You can't make five people do that, and yet billions of people are keeping this supposed machine rolling?
Maybe if I just work harder, this empty cup will pour again
anti abortion propaganda that tries to like scare you into feeling guilty by reminding you that the fetus has body parts are so funny. "uwu please don't abort me I have eyes at 4 weeks old 🥺" nice try sucker I don't care if you see it coming

I love tumblr more than IG bc IG feels like I’m posting looking for a job but on here it’s like I already lost the job and my wife and the house and I’m just sitting on the curb talking to myself
i'm a lover not a fighter i'm a hater not a dater
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
This is actually what I was adviced to do at the work rehabilitation program I went to. Hasn't left my mind since. 10/10 solid advice
For disability pride, think I want to focus on this one thing that been bothering me
Been very frustrated lately by lack of phone call accessibility as someone who lacks speech but needs a lot of resources to stay healthy.
With rise of AI, it's only getting worse and worse.
More places changing their systems to incorporate AI answering machines.
Thing is...
Whenever I hear most people ranting about this change, it's usually about how annoying it is from an abled-person perspective or environmental or ethical impact.
Which are important valid reasons to be upset. I share those sentiments too.
But feel like disability is once again forgotten about within important discussion about change.
AI creates terrible language accessibility issues.
In fact, that's why it so annoying to deal with it.
In the past, if a place didn't have a call center or desk person to answer calls, they use extentions.
That meant you had to press a few numbers to get the right person.
Now with AI, you're expected to have a full conversation with a robot.
Tell them why you're calling, who you need to speak to, verify your info so the humans don't have to later, etc.
These bots can be bad at understanding what able-people are saying, so imagine how they handle these disabled callers:
People who use AAC (speech aids/devices)
People who slur, stutter, have "strange" voice or pronunciation
People with rapid or disorganized speech
People who use poor grammar & who don't speak full words or sentences
People who mix up similar common words
People with "deaf accent"
(i don't know if there is a different preferred term for this. Im sorry if I sound offensive. Please Lmk)
People with non-communicative speech such as vocal tics, echolalia, or babbling
Anyone who uses speech or language in a way that needs a human mind to interpret
Anyone whose voice sounds notably different
Ability to understand what AI is saying can be harder too:
d/Deaf people and other hearing differences
Auditory processing disorder
Receptive language disorder
Developmental disability, especially intellectual and learning disabilities
(AI can't help people who need things explained a certain way. AI unreliable and fails to adapt a lot.)
Anyone who frequently can't make out sounds and/or speech
Anyone who frequently has trouble with meanings in conversation
The problems I often face with AI answering machines (and that I'm sure many other disabled people have faced as well):
AI slightly mishearing me/my device
AI mishearing so badly that it basically makes up a fake conversation
AI not hearing me/my device at all
AI registering tics and stims as answers
AI "explaining" an instruction by repeating the same instruction again word-for-word
AI directing me to the wrong person without trying to confirm what I said
AI sometimes just... hanging up on me right after I speak my first answer...
These are the machines being put in front of
hospitals
doctors offices
mental health centers
pharmacies
transportation and in-home care
health insurance member services
medical supply companies
government resource agencies
non-profit organizations
advocacy groups
justice centers & other legal resources
customer service lines
many other places disabled people often need to access from home
It's another example of some of the most vulnerable being pushed away from the things we need, and we're also being forgotten in these discussions about things that can affect us a lot
Next time someone is ranting about AI job interviewers, please also remember:
the AI pharmacy assistants that make it impossible for someone with a speech disorder to sort out their meds
the AI scheduler that won't allow a D/deaf person to access the right extension of the clinic to set up an appointment
the AI agent that confuses an intellectually disabled person into anger and tears
the AI answerer that hangs up on a mentally ill person seeking help in crisis because they aren't speaking coherently enough
Human beings need to be at the forefront of human resources and issues for disabled people especially. Please remember us. Please fight.
Happy disability pride ♡
I don't know who my intended audience is here, so whoever needs to hear this, I am begging you to learn to participate in conversations that are about things you aren't interested in.
Part of socializing and having friends is being a good listener even when you don't actually give a shit about the subject.
Your are hurting other people's feelings when you bluntly respond with "Anyway..." and then change the topic.
It can not always be about your preferred topic.
You are being rude. Yes, even if you are neurodivergent. You can be both autistic and rude.

Can I just say that as someone who was raised in a firmly working class household by a blue collar parental team… so many people on this website who try to translate blue collar reality into their fantasy worldbuilding are literally insane
I also don’t think a majority of you know what the reality of farming actually is.
Like I get it! I get wanting to take these fun ideas and bend them into magical shapes! But the fact that most of the ~innovative magic~ doesn’t actually… solve a majority of the problems in either industry or agriculture is so telling. It’s not all about increasing productivity or shifting aesthetics! That’s not any different than what the current mode of industry is doing, it’s just doing it with the power of fairy dust instead of fossil fuels.
Magic is supposed to be a boon, but if you still have people hand milking cows who?? Is receiving the boon here?? Automated milking and pasteurisation spells please!! A quicker and less dangerous way, for both person and animal, to dock lambs than having to hold them under one arm and take a sharp knife to their tails with the other! Or even spells to remove the necessity of docking at all, if you insist it’s cruel and not good hygiene practice! A way to check eggs for blood in the yolk before cracking them both because yuck and because it’s prohibited in certain dietary practices! Venting mechanisms for industrial pipe work to prevent bursts! Safe disposal of waste!! WATER FILTRATION SYSTEMS IN URBAN CENTRES!! HOW INHUMANE TO NOT HAVE YOUR SEWAGE SYSTEM MANAGED BY MAGIC IF THAT IS WITHIN YOUR POWER!!
Also, there’s still so often the Mage In A Tower and then just some schlubs who can do magic or whatever, but listen: those schlubs would unionise, and a good union with magic would be REALLY something to see.
a party of adventurers that are all equally convinced that they are in completely different forms of media
the mage keeps giving smug glances in the direction they assume a camera is in. the fighter keeps getting indignant about missing attacks because of "bad dice rolls." the rogue is doubtful that a villain is gone for good because "nobody ever stays dead in comics." the paladin attributes fortune to "good rng." none of them have even considered that "tumblr post" was an option
You need to prioritize a life that is worth living for you as a nonbinary person, not sacrificing yourself for the comfort of those around you.
It could mean making space where you are in order to be yourself. Or, it might require escaping to a place where you can.
You're worth what it takes.
I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;
The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.
And I am not going to mince words here:
A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.
That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.
"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.
So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
btw my new coworker clocked me as nonbinary today and idk how
i did not come out to her she just said "girl" in a slang way and then asked me unprompted if she could "call me 'girl' in a nonbinary way. btw what are your pronouns" and i was like. was it the shadow the hedgehog scrunchie. was that what did it
wait a minute i DID make a joke about being autistic. it is entirely possible she conflated being autistic with being nonbinary. holy shit that would be so funny

if you ask 10 aros about love you’ll get 27 responses
its crazy that megan thee stallion is not considered a queer artist by some people. the woman is not shy about the fact that she finds women attractive and likes having sex with them. she references it pretty frequently in her music, she made a whole song about enjoying having threesomes with a woman and a man, she made a Jennifer's Body-themed music video, she had Victoria Monét full riding her thigh on stage at a coachella, and there's literally a video of a lesbian interviewing glorilla at a party & asking who she would date if she was queer and her immediate response is "megan. megan like girls!" and then megan turns around and immediately starts flirting with the interviewer. i don't know what more you want. that woman is Bi Sexual and we should all be thankful every day for that. bi women are still bi when they wanna fuck men too you know. the fucking of men is also done bisexually.
