Water

The element of change. Benders of this element tend to be adaptive and fluid like the art itself, changing the water’s state (solid, gas) and even changing oneself to better suit the environment. There is an emphasis placed in redirection, synergy, flow, and using the opponent’s energy against them. Their communities have held together by a deep sense of love and community. Rather than forcing one’s will, a waterbender shapes energy by guiding it.

Within waterbending, there’s healing and also manipulation of the water within other things (such as the water in plants or even the water in animals). Under the light of a full moon, skilled waterbenders can bloodbend.

The element of substance. Benders tend to be stubborn, strong/tough, and unyielding, like big boulders. They are described as persistent and enduring, like the earth itself. The emphasis is on strength, having a solid stance, confronting opponents head-on, and control. An immovable force that won’t be swayed, they make the world bend to them, not the other way around.

Anything associated with the earth can fall under this category—refined earth (like metals), worn down granules of earth (like sand), wet earth (like mud), etc.

The element of power. Requires an intense emotional drive in order to drive the size of one’s flame. Benders have desire and will, as well as the energy and drive to achieve what they want. Fire can quickly spiral out of control if not regulated and the bender is not disciplined.

Highly skilled firebenders can conjure and redirect lightning. There’s other sub-elements, such as combustionbending.

It’s possible to use airbending to do things like float, shape clouds, etc.

Rook Hunt was observing the world from the balcony overlooking the Grand Hall, a perfectly neutral stance that allowed him to see without being seen. He was cataloging the day’s "beauté"—the elegance of Vil’s newest pin, the fierce concentration in a duel, the pure joy of a student receiving a letter from home. He was detached, the ultimate observer, the Hunter of Truth.

You were not doing anything extraordinary. You were simply walking through the hall below, perhaps laughing with a friend, or pausing to push a stray lock of hair from your face. It was a brief, unguarded moment of simple, human authenticity.

But Rook saw it. And the moment his eyes landed on you, the Hunt ceased.

His heart, which was usually a steady instrument of objective cataloging, gave a violent, painful lurch. It was not the intellectual admiration he usually felt—the "100 points!" of high appraisal. This was a physical, dizzying sense of absolute, devastating recognition.

He was caught.

The realization was terrifying. His breathing hitched. He felt his flawless, detached composure—the mask he wore every single day—threaten to shatter. He was no longer the hunter; he was the hunted, paralyzed by the magnificent, perfect target that had just wandered into his field of vision.

He forgot Vil’s schedule. He forgot his own name. His mind was screaming a single, desperate word: Mine.

Rook Hunt, master of deflection, found himself utterly defenseless. He knew, with a certainty that reached into his very hunter soul, that this was not a moment he could simply observe and walk away from. This was a destiny he could not evade.

He moved immediately. He vaulted the railing (a dangerous, uncharacteristic move) and landed silently, smoothly, a short distance behind you. He approached, not with his usual theatrical flair, but with a rare, quiet intensity.

When he spoke, the dramatic French was there, but it was raw, stripped of performance—it was a desperate attempt to name the feeling he could not control.

"Beauté," he whispered, his voice low and husky, making you jump. "Wait, please. I must... I must ask your name. I must ask everything."

He caught your hand, raising it gently to his lips. His emerald eyes, usually sparkling with mischief, were solemn, profound, and utterly focused.

"You have, mon ami," he murmured, his gaze intense, "just ruined my life. For you, I will willingly abandon the hunt. You are a truth so potent, so beautiful, that I can no longer bear to be objective. Tell me... tell me what you desire, and I will dedicate my entire existence to its acquisition. This is not a game."

He was instantly, profoundly, and completely devoted.

I think it's interesting this theory of "order of mentioning", really wish I could verify it 100% just to be sure (I'm the eternal 'this is suspicious' person lol). Bc I feel that Kalim mentioned his royal cousin in a personal story, not the main... but maybe I'm misremembering.

I also feel like Olympus Tech would relate more for Hercules but family relations are already muddy in the movie and Twst likes to take liberties when writing the ways two or more characters know each other (like Neige and Vil are family-independent from one another, meanwhile the Evil Queen was Snow's step-mother and who knows what Trein and Twst!Cinderella will be).

And not to forget the RSA boys are a mix of the Disney protag couple they're basically their sons atp lmao. So will Megboy relate to Idia in a family level, like Hercules is Hades' nephew? Or will his family be related to STYX as in working for them, like Megara had a contract with the underworld? Sorry, I'm getting off topic lol

Nalad is another one I just need to know what his deal is, more for peace of mind bc he's becoming this huge equation in the Kingscholar family soap opera in terms of story ideas. Bro could be anything. Family friend, distant relative, no relation whatsoever, completely separated from Twst child!Nala...

So, what do we know? It's 4 event, 7 guys. 2 already went out, there's 5 let. So we could have 2 for Magift, 2 for Mystic Mortar (since it's potion-based, Vil is one of the theorized to be there so maybe Neige comes in this batch) and 1 for Seeker's Gathering.

Either they leave 1 for MM or 1 for SG. Magift is a no-no bc it's the precise event where they need to show the power of friendship and see if gets to be trampled down by NRC new found power of "we need to work together against common enemy" they got on book 7.

I really really wanted to see Housewarden no. 4 aka Minajael, but now that we have him and Rielle, I really REALLY want to see Neige. Since it’s gotten confirmed that he is a Housewarden, I just want more lore on him especially now! I’m also really curious about Megboy and what his design will look like. The update can’t come soon enough 🥲

You made a really good point about the family relations in TWST - it’s usually a little remixed, so I’m wondering if/how Megboy would be related to Idia/the Shroud family? Maybe it’s another ‘in-debt’ situation similar to Meg in the movie? I may be reading too much into it but color me curious 👀

A lot of the ‘mentioning’ of characters (like Kalim’s cousin, etc) happens in the vignettes/personal stories/limited time events I think. It’s also a little hard for me to recall where exactly I recall the info as well, so if anyone remembers/can fact check me I def appreciate it!! 👀 the only one I’m certain of, is Rielle being name-dropped in Book 3 when Octavinelle is talking about the photo Azul wanted us to retrieve.

Tbh I may be misremembering Leona mentioning stuff about family. I feel like I remember him mentioning royal family stuff (specifically with extended relatives and family reunions? Maybe I hallucinated it???) Nalad really could be anything. The possibilities are SO endless. I’m also wondering, since (theoretically, highly likely) Nalad is twisted from Nala, maybe we’ll get more palace lore on the guards/security?

I do hope the TWST overlords devs do release more of the silhouetted characters. Maybe if they do release two at a time per update, they could drum up even more hype for the remaining unreleased housewarden? I’m also wondering if they’ll release other dorm members soon. While we do know the housewarden silhouettes (and roughly who they are based off), we don’t know their dorm members (if there are any). It could be as simple as a namedrop, headcount, or even an actual character design!
