         ”You— I need you to train with me right now.”

        ❝I don't like physical combat and         you know that,❞ Loren muttered,         clearing his throat. Sometimes I         wonder if he's just trying to get         back at me attempting to throw         him out of a window...

                    “I’m gonna kick your ass at Mario Kart,                     and then I’m gonna kick your ass. How’s                     that sound?”

        ❝Are you...Are you sure about that?         I've been told I'm great at Mario Kart.❞

        ❝Not much experience.❞ The musician         shrugged, combing a hand through his         hair. ❝Always been self conscious of          me skills, unless it's got to do with my         music.❞

        ❝I warned you, then,❞ Lorne muttered         before leaning up, pressing a kiss to         the other male's lips. His hesitance was         obvious, but it was also evident that his         confidence was growing as it progressed.

      ’ or are you gonna kiss me? ’

        Lorne's face burned and he cleared         his throat. ❝I, um...I w a n t to, I—I         swear, I'm just worried I'll fuck it up.         Can't fuck up a kiss if I don't go in         for it, now, can I?❞

 ❝What’s wrong with enjoying food? I mean, its not like I’m unhealthy or anything.❞

        ❝There's nothing wrong with it. I just         don't like it.❞

    ❝Or I could finish my beer,       fries, onion rings and burger,       and than order some cake.❞

        ❝Okay, you...you do that.❞ Even the         thought of it makes him feel ill.

He’d cleaned up for bed and changed into a fresh pair of boxers, shirtless like he’d always been.  Jasper’s gaze caressed over the little girl in her mother’s arms, and asked, “Can I hold her for a moment?”

        ❝Of course. Just take care, she likes to wiggle.❞         Carefully, she extended her arms and the little         girl, looking at the other. A soft smile graced her         lips.

"I’ll be upstairs," was his reply, and Jasper released Renn to head up towards the stairs.  What had he been thinking?  But the invitation had slipped from his lips automatically.  He didn’t know why it had seemed like a valid idea at the time, but then an image of the three of them curled up together on his king-size mattress came into his mind, and Jasper couldn’t un-see it.

        Renn spent a few minutes getting a sleepy         Jasmine ready for bed, and by the time she         had joined Jasper in the room, the toddler was         fast asleep in her arms, head on her shoulder.         ❝She's out like a light.❞

                     ❝ Ew. ❞

        ❝Tofu is good depending on what you         have it with. Miso soup, there's a good         example. I could make you one really         nice meal using tofu, pasta, and salad.❞

❝ But burgers and onion rings taste so damn good.❞

        ❝That's debatable. I prefer...not so fatty         things. Like salads. And tofu.❞

"Stay, tonight."

        ❝Only if we're not intruding,❞ Renn murmured,         but she nodded. She glanced over at their         daughter, before she cleared her throat. ❝I need         to get her into her pajamas.❞
