As he had already promised, he would stay late, he would dance with his friends, he would send them safely home, and he would help Emily out whenever she needed a break to go have some fun. Honestly, she's probably know how to have more fun than he did anyways, he was put to better use as helping hands to keep the bride and groom enjoying themselves too. They certainly had proper bartenders doing the drinks, so Ashton simply situated himself to help get them out once they were done. "Espresso Martini? We got a non-alcoholic option too." Ash pushed up his jacket sleeves so they didn't get wet as he greeted the next person coming up to the bar, "I've tried the latter only but know they're equally delicious."

" Who's a pretty bird? You are! Yes, you are~ " What is she even doing? Petting a cute bird, of course!

It wasn't common, but it was quiet night for once, one that Ashton was thankful for, sometimes even this level of the building gets too loud for Ash's liking, much less the rest of the floors. But he's gotten used to the job here by now after a few years, easy to do without any trouble or fuss, something that's ultimately appreciated here and kept him around. If he can get through a shift without a scene happening and make sure to deescalate others from causing a scene, that's the real goal - other than keeping the liquids flowing and people happy.

Ash had been quietly cleaning the bar top when he felt a presence join him, blues flickering up to the person with a polite, quiet on-shift smile, "can I get you anything you need?"

"I fell."

The lie was out of her mouth before the other could finish their assessment of her face. There was no hiding it. No hiding the black eye, the swollen jaw, the purple, black and yellow that leached from her temple into her hairline.

How had a date gone so badly wrong and at what point had she deserved being beaten like that. She was still trying to piece together what she'd done. The at least that lingered at her thoughts every time was beginning to annoy her. Positivity in the face of... this.

"Down the stairs, like an idiot." Maria said, wincing as she smiled.
