His eyes remained shut as he calmly waited for the bell to ring. Yes, he was aware that students were filing in, but as far as he was concerned, it was still time for a short nap before he began class. But just as soon as an actual slumber began to overcome him, the shrill ring of the final bell rang and he let out a soft grumble. His least favourite day of the year was certainly the first day of school. It meant new students to teach, and it meant no free time save for a few hours on the weekend. Even as he stood to write his name on the board, he was thinking about his weekend. The thoughts remained in his head until he turned and caught sight of a new student of his, and those images of the weekend vanished. He was an expert at diverting his eyes, but a few stolen glances were made as he spoke. ❝My name is Raymond Talbott. I suggest you all call me Ray, because next year you will all be in college and in the real world; formalities are not so common, only during job interviews.❞
