Boyfriend material: Ren Winter (Disney Gen 1 Spare)
I mean come on. Not only is he adorable, but he's also so sweet! He loves kids (he spent so much money on getting Suzume and Aaliyah expensive SimCity Girl Dolls) and besides Asahi was one of the only Winter kids to not have any drama lol. Apollo is a lucky man!
Expected to like you more: Kamila Thayer (NSB Gen 4 Baby Mama? Idk what to call her, she was Kaia's mom)
When the game told me Ethan had a crush on her, I incoporated her into the story right away, thinking they'd be high school sweethearts. But I just didn't find myself clicking with her. After they had their oops baby, I wanted to get rid of her so I first came up with her abandoning Ethan and Kaia (which she did), but I eventually came up with the sudden death storyline. Sorry, Kamila!
We could be besties: Kaia Berry (NSB Gen 4 Spare)
We both had an emo phase, we both have some mommy issues, and we both never felt like we fit in. I could see myself bonding with Kaia.
Love the attitudes: Rina Winter (Disney Gen 1 Spare)
I didn't expect Rina to become such a menace as a child! She never had a mean trait. Sims 4 tends to play it more safe in terms of keeping everyone happy and not having sims be too mean unless they're Evil, so when Rina autonomously started antagonizing her siblings I had so much more fun with her and the game in general.
Would watch all the edits at 3 am: Amara Flores (best friend of Disney Gen 1 Heir)
I'm not fully sure what this means, but I think Amara would be the one to stay up with Zume at a sleepover pestering her to watch TikToks all night. She's that kind of friend. Annoying, but lovable.
Deserves better: Cordelia "Cora" Berry (NSB Gen 3 Heir)
My sweet baby Cora. I'm so sorry for what your mother put you through. For those who weren't here in the NSB days, Cora and her mother Adelina are actually OCs from years ago that I wrote for a novel (one of these days I'll show people the written version, but I wrote it at 15 years old and it's so cringe worthy). I decided to bring them into my Not So Berry challenge and play out their story in Sims-form. Cora went through years of abuse and neglect by her mother and she had a rough adulthood because of it, but thankfully she had her happy ending with her wife, kids and grandkids. She's still the sim I'm the most attached to.
My gorgeous cutie pie: Ethan Berry (NSB Gen 4 Heir)
I don't do male heirs as much (I guess I don't get attached to male sims as much as female sims) but from the second he became a toddler I loved this boy so much. He grew up to be so handsome too. He went from a struggling teen dad to a superstar athlete with 5 kids! I also got to explore a PTSD storyline with him thanks to the sudden loss of his twin sister as a child. Ethan, I love you!
Comfort character: Noel Winter (Disney Founder) and Kentaro Sasaki (Disney Gen 1 Spouse)
I couldn't choose between these two! They have such a wholesome, loving relationship and I love taking screenshots of them. They had a rough young adulthood having no money at all and 7 kids, but they've really come a long way and are now grandparents!
Expected to like you less: Amaya "Maya" Winter (Disney Gen 1 Spare)
I didn't really connect with Maya when she was an infant, and I thought she was funny looking😂But similar to Rina, when she aged to a toddler and turned into a little terror, I loved her.
No one can make me hate you: Zelda Berry (NSB Gen 5 Heir)
Zelda is perfect in every way. Girlfriend could kill someone and I'd still love her😫She has her flaws, but I've just loved her since she was an infant.
Underrated: August Valentine (I'm a Lover Gen 1 Heir)
Even though I discontinued this challenge, I love August so much. My hopeless romantic boy😅
No one can make me love you: Adelina Berry (NSB Gen 2 Heir)
Is she stunning? Yes. Is she a monster? Also yes. She might be one of my oldest OCs, but she's still a total asshole and a terrible mother. She only ever cared about herself. Hey, at least she was a perfect fit for the politician career.
Girlfriend material: Avalon Lee (NSB Gen 3 Spouse)
Avalon was such an angel and I'm so glad she and Cora found each other. She was the light in Cora's life and just wanted to make her happy and loved. Is that not girlfriend (and wife) material?
My baby: Suzume Winter (Disney Gen 2 Heir)
ZUME😫She is so cute and sweet, and I'm so excited to get her generation started. As soon as I saw her age up to a chubby infant with those cheeks I loved her. Now that she's a child I've had a lot of fun seeing how her personality naturally developed. She thinks girls are very pretty, but doesn't everyone?
Wish you were real: Koharu Winter (Disney Gen 1 Spare)
I wish she was real because she's exactly my type😂I'd probably ask her out if she was real. Women with bangs and more narrow eyes make me just lose it😭And similar to Zume, I liked seeing how her personality and story developed throughout her teen years.

With their kids' school glitch still going strong, and the kids themselves growing up, it was only a matter of time before Iridessa and Angelica’s chapter of the story came to an end. Iridessa couldn’t help reminiscing about the good ol’ days

LILAC: Hello watchers and fellow pixels. I’m Lilac, and one of these gorgeous creatures here with me was a beloved star and fan favourite of yet another Bachelor-slash-Rette Challenge. The other one is their husband. Who apparently can’t get past the first month of a calendar.
EVEREST: Well, fair…
LILAC: Meet January and Everest.
JANUARY: Hey all.

LILAC: Let’s start with a pronoun role call. She/her for me.
EVEREST: He/him.
JANUARY: And I go by they/she. No preference.
LILAC: Now Everest, even though we’re both cisgender, we still gave our pronouns. Care to tell our audience why that is?
EVEREST: Because gender expression and gender identity aren’t always the same thing. Also to help any gender non-conforming people feel more comfortable coming forward and like who they are will be respected.
LILAC: Good answer. And January, you of course were on a reality tv show? With a female only cast? Other than Everest that is.
JANUARY: Well as I said, I use both “they” and “she” pronouns. Either fit me. Like how I'm both Chinese and American, and you possibly similarly see yourself as both Korean and American?
LILAC: Some days I feel more Korean than American, and vice versa. Mostly American because I grew up in SanMy. But yeah, I get what you mean. I guess if we’re using that comparison, we’re describing being gender fluid?
JANUARY: Yes, potentially. I wouldn’t say I’m gender fluid in that I feel one thing more than the other from one day to the next. Both “they” and “she” work for me all the time. With being on the show, Watcher Darya was very respectful of my pronouns and putting me in clothes that were true to my identity. I may choose to wear a dress, but I wouldn’t want to feel expected to wear one because of how I was born, if that makes sense?
LILAC: Even your wedding dress was actually a jumpsuit, from what I remember. And totally. I mean, I can’t relate to gender expectations in terms of how I identify. But I think most of us can relate to societal gender conformity in one way or the other. Like “girls shouldn’t play football or be funny” etc.
EVEREST: “Boys shouldn’t ask for help. Or cry.” [winks] I cried during Lost Dog’s Journey Home the other day.
JANUARY: And I love that for you.
LILAC: As far as I'm aware, you were also the one contestant on the show who wasn’t allosexual. But that’s a whole other conversation.
JANUARY: [dryly] Oh, it typically is.
LILAC: How so?
JANUARY: Well when I was at university, it was a very confusing time for me. I knew that I wasn’t interested in women or other feminine presenting people. But also when my straight friends talked about dating, their experiences didn’t feel like mine. I would go out with someone who on paper I should have been interested in, but I wasn’t in anything beyond as a friend.
EVEREST: But when you say “should,” you’re talking about what society expects and not what is the “right” or “wrong” thing to feel in that situation. Because the ideas of “right” and “wrong” don’t apply to whether or not you’re attracted to someone, or how much attraction you experience. If you do at all.
LILAC: Ohhh, someone raised this one right. You should keep him. And “demisexual” is the label that you use, right? Could you explain that a little more to people who may not be familiar with that term?
JANUARY: Demisexuality is grouped under the ace spectrum, like “greysexual” and of course “asexual.” I can tell you what identifying as demisexual means to me. But like everything else on the ace spectrum, it is a spectrum. So if you ask me and then talk to four other demisexuals, you’ll get some commonalities, but five answers that won’t be exactly the same. For me it means that I don’t experience attraction unless I have a strong emotional bond with another person, and know them very well.
LILAC: While in the past, I tended to use sex as an icebreaker [laughs]. If I hadn’t read up on this before the Watcher plunked you two down into this save, I guess my question (and a question a lot of people have) is say, take someone like Araminta.

LILAC: She’s heterosexual but said that she wouldn’t have been comfortable sleeping with Dodo until they had their first disagreement, to have some security that they could deal with it in a constructive manner. So I guess that I’d be wondering what makes you different from her? Since she clearly needed to get to know Dodo too.
JANUARY: Yes, but I’m assuming that she was attracted to Dodo when she first met him. Or even before. She possibly just needed that sense of familiarity to take that step. Because it is a step. For me until I get to that point, it’s a total absence of desire. Well, in all but a handful of cases.
EVEREST: January can objectively see that someone is good looking. But it’s like - well I guess it’s how I perceive other men. I can tell when one is handsome but I don’t feel anything personally towards him.
JANUARY: If he brings up their appearance at all, it’s to ask where they got their sweater.
EVEREST: Yeah, because mine keep disappearing. Actually what you were wearing earlier looked very familiar…
LILAC: It’s live-in partner rights. Your clothes are just more comfy.
JANUARY: And have better pockets.
LILAC: See? January gets it.
LILAC: What would you say are some of the main misconceptions about demisexuals?
JANUARY: That we’re picky.
LILAC: Nothing wrong with that.
JANUARY: I mean more in the sense that we think we’re too good for everyone. And that we’re prudes with conservative ideals about sex.
EVEREST: Yeah, you can be sex positive in your general beliefs, but sex neutral or even sex adverse when it comes to yourself and your own behaviour.
LILAC: He has been reading up! I guess knowing that Everest is heterosexual and therefore falls on the allosexual spectrum, my question would be how did you navigate intimacy on the show?
EVEREST: Respecting others’ wants and boundaries is important to me, so January being demisexual was just an extension of that. If it’s not right for both of us, then it’s not right for either of us.
JANUARY: There were initially some questions. Namely if eventually as a winner, I’d be comfortable with intimacy and having children. The answer is yes to both.
LILAC: Both of those are valid questions if you’re contemplating a life with someone. And when it comes to me and being bisexual, I’m fine with questions if they’re coming from a place where someone’s genuinely trying to learn.
JANUARY: I agree. In terms of gameplay mechanics, my Watcher and Everest’s discussed any “ask for sex” prompts ahead of time. Everest’s Watcher suggested that she give the “not right now” reply but still award me points for the request. [dryly] I seem to remember that I initiated all of them.
EVEREST: [grins] You were caught up in the moment. And I wanted to make sure that it was more than just a moment.
JANUARY: You made the right call.
LILAC: And as we well know, Wicked Whims can be a law unto itself. Plus without LGBTQIA+ mods, the game just isn’t complex enough to allow for a diverse range of sexuality.
JANUARY: Yes. Like some mods I’ve seen say that demisexuals will only have sex with people that they are “good friends” with. And while like I said before, it is a spectrum, I’m like “I need to be more than ‘good friends’ with them!” Like not necessarily married to them-
LILAC: Oh plum, Everest. If only you’d known…
JANUARY: [chuckles] But in a long term relationship of some kind before I feel ready?
LILAC: That makes sense. And I mean, if I for example strive for a sex positive attitude, that also means being accepting of people who are on the ace spectrum. Plus even being allosexual isn’t necessarily an “one size fits everyone.” You can still be confused about who you may or may not want to sleep with, and whether you feel ready.
JANUARY: Exactly. Plus sexual and romantic preferences aren’t always interchangeable. I would say that I’m heteromantic.
EVEREST: Oh yeah - I'm heteromantic too.
LILAC: And I’m just a plain old messy bi-everything. Well, a little less messy these days. Monogamously messy. Anyway. You’re headed to Strangerville after this?
JANUARY: [grins] Everest still needs to meet his two new in-laws.
EVEREST: I really did put the cart before the horse with that one, didn’t I?
LILAC: Yes, you did. No pressure or anything though!
