a merry-go-round that never slows  i can feel the bile rise.  up and down we go  these are the highs  can’t we get off now?  i stopped having fun so long ago. there’s no one here but us.  these are the lows.  can’t we get off now?  i just want to go home.  the smiles have faded  the lights are off  please just take me home. - b.d // home, a collection of poetry in the works

one day, a door opened inside my soul  and out came the monsters  i realized that they weren’t in my closet or under my bed  they lived inside of me trapped in cages in my head  - b.d // home, a collection of poetry in the works

i want to say that after this,  i won’t try i won’t care  but i know that’s false i will always try i will always care  it’s what makes me up i don’t know any other way to be - b.d // home, a collection of poetry in the works

so i’ll wait patiently while you’re folding laundry or tending to your plants or ridding yourself of your demons though we both know they never leave they weren’t invited, yet they watch you sleep - b.d // home, a collection of poetry in the works

it feels like everything i've thought is just recycled from something i've seen in a movie or read in a book. is anything about me even real? i try to be authentic but what if we're all just made up of impressions? i can't settle. i can't pretend some would say that it's a gift, being made of stone instead of glass i just think it's lonely. how can i be impressive if i'm just made of impressions? - b.d // home, a collection of poetry in the works
