it's wild to watch movies directed by film makers who now do marvel movies. you really get to appreciate just how much disney sucks the life and creative spirit out of creators, leaving behind a perfectly focus-tested husk

the hunt for the wilderpeople rips my heart out through my nose. the thor movies are fun at best, and also are completely undercut by the rest of the MCU. the russo brothers also worked on arrested development. hell, even scum sucker joss whedon made cabin in the woods. there are bigger problems with the MCU of course; it treats its VFX artists like garbage, all their movies are glorified army recruitment ads, etc. but i do think it's worth pointing out how disney takes creative people and just stomps them flat.
