i feel bad for people who don’t read fan fiction. imagine only having canon

Whenever they gave us one of those "read through ALL the instructions before you begin!" trick assignments in school where the steps lead you on an increasingly ridiculous goose chase until the final one tells you to just put your name on the paper and turn it in without doing anything else, I was always like, "Okay, but what's the point? Surely the REAL world won't be anything like this." And then I grew up and discovered that not only is the real world often exactly like that, some people won't even read the first line of the instructions even if they make perfect sense. And these people are called "co-workers"

Hello Comic Company, I would like a writer to do something interesting and new with this character that has a very rich and deeply interesting history to explore. No? You're giving me mischaracterisation and stagnation for 30 issues so egregious that public perception of the character is permanently altered into a significantly worse version that spits on the legacy of the entire character and every writer who dedicated years to intricately and thoughtfully add onto their character? Well golly gee why don't I just fucking kill myself because you keep FUCKING ME OVER

genuinely think many superhero fans dont know what a redemption arc is "how can you say cheetah should be redeemed? she's killed and eaten people" yes. in order to be redeemed one generally has to be a bit evil first

In my opinion it's a lot more healthy to be able to own that you dislike someone for petty reasons than to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to make everyone you don't really vibe with out to be a bad person actually
