The women who desperately need Taylor swift to be gay are kind of indicative of a larger trend in gay stuff where people don’t want to seek out actual gay art or culture but want to consecrate all the normiest str8 culture as somehow queer in order to feel like they are participating, without having to actually do anything deviating from the lowest common denominator broadest appeal culture industry products

to the people who don't understand the shock and how it hits people even though it is "just a celebrity relationship". It's not that we are so extremely sad about joe and taylor directly. It is more the realisation that something that seems strong and healthy and consistent, something that IS all those things, could cruble at any given moment. that you can never be sure something lasts forever. And that is a hard pill to swallow if you project it on your own life. So please be kind to the ones in shock, even if it's "just two celebrities breaking up" to you.
