its a joke throughout the episode that isaac literally only seems to be there to be a debbie downer because hes sarcastic and cynical and hes NOT the guy you go to for support. even from scotts point of view ("we need help" "we have isaac" "i mean real help"/"he's my responsibility" etc) isaac is more someone you need to watch out for (though i mean, scott being the alpha means that everyone is someone he needs to watch out for, everyone is his responsibility), someone to be protected and looked after and grounded instead of the one doing the grounding. but then allison argent of all people chooses, even unconsciously, the worlds most unsteadiest guy to be her anchor. and he's the one she admits weakness to ("allisons a perfect shot" "she used to be") and it doesnt chafe like it did when scott saw her weaknesses (see: their flashback scene in frayed) and maybe thats because she doesnt feel incompetent next to isaac who she's proven able to handle in the past, but either way it's isaac for her. not a reliable guy like scott or a smart girl like lydia but isaac. the one who steadies her and tethers her and pulls her back and he's never been that guy for anyone before but damn if he isnt gonna do it well now that he is

people are like "allisaac didnt make sense" "it was forced" "it came out of nowhere" consider you are allison argent and you are faced with 1. cheekbones 2. height difference especially when they hug that one time and he wraps her up in his arms 3. he does not seem all that torn up about the daggers if anything hes a little flirty about it 4. the guy nobody else considers dependable proves dependable for you (5. you're both in love with ur ex bf)
