I think about how Scott could actually hear Lydia's heart stop or slow down after they rescued her from eichen house. And I wonder if he suddenly thought of how he could hear Allison's heart stop beating, her blood stop flowing through her veins, and everything just becomes still.
God, he must have been so scared and then so relieved to hear Lydia's heart pumping again. Slow, but still pumping. I don't think he would've been able to handle another death.
