OR luke pov of the scene where he figures it out in fill with water and capsize... no pressure but it would be so juicy!!!!!!! esp luke because he's usually so chill, it would be so interesting getting in his head while he's so emotionally vulnerable.

I read the words which!quinn and I start chomping at the bars of my cage I need her!!
YAYYYY !! i'm glad because i do too!!! if u don't mind i'm gonna talk a bit abt her... use this as my attempt to organise some of the thoughts i've had today on it...
i think i've got my internal conflict + my general plot... i THINK ! i'm going to have him starting at a very low point, a couple years after a Bad event. said bad event involving an old mentor who sort of throws him to the wolves after [scandal/event], so quinn is kind of outcasted and shunned from the bigger cities with magic. his 'vancouver' move, so to speak, and he ends up across the country and alone and lacking a lot of magic and resources. he gets by kind of on what he's got + hoodwinking (just a little), kind of posing like any old tarot reader. meanwhile jack + luke seem to be building themselves up with a great organisation of magic involving nico, kind of have the world in comparison, the worst thing going for them is that quinn's kinda stained the family name etc.
enter: brock faber, who's knocking on his door being like my best friend [mb12] is cursed and i need your help. and quinn's like absolutely not you've got the wrong guy. and brock's like nope, jack sent me here.
and thus begins a back-and-forth of quinn trying to deal with this insistent new guy who definitely has magic of his own, his annoying best friend who is cursed to hell and back, and the fact that jack and luke have stopped listening to him say no goddman visiting or associating with me when you've got your own business to worry about jfc
I'm so interested in what the Wild would have gotten from Quinn during these scenes in lined between

And
"Hughesy, hey," Jared says, voice dropping. "Look. I just want to be sure on this, alright? It's okay if you want to have the pack with your brothers. If you wantβ"
Quinn almost scrambles up from the bed. Jared has to pin him back down by the shoulders.
"I don'tβI want yours." Quinn's so desperate with it that it's coming out all stilted in his panic. "I want this one. I want the one that I have. I want you guys. I don't want to lose that. Don'tβdon'tβ"
"Okay, okay," Jared quickly reassures. "Okay. We'll figure it out, okay? I promise. You won't lose us."
First off, Jared pinning Quinn down. Okay. I like it. Especially in the context of h/c and I've got to keep you from hurting yourself/making things worse. π₯Ή
If they felt Quinn on the plane in the first scene, and they did, then I feel like they definitely felt it in the second scene.
That I want you, please want and keep me kind of panic.
That must have felt so raw to the rest of them. Especially the others not knowing what was going on.
They want him! They want him and he wants them and neither of them is able to feel that the way they should.
If they don't ever really get anything from Quinn and then that's what they get when they do get something ... oof.
No wonder Nick was lingering a little before backing down and letting Jared handle it. I can't believe Brock wasn't jumping over the seats.
Also curious what Jared felt like to them during those. He put up a good front for Quinn but he had to have been feeling some dread or anxiety that probably bled through to the others.
And that hesitation before he agreed to not tell the others earlier in the fic. π
And ugh. Like, how badly Quinn wants to be a part of the Wild pack.
I hope at some point once the bond is healthy that they get a glimpse of that. Or maybe they kind of talk to Jared about it and he says something that tells them without saying it thay Quinn really wanted to make sure he was part of their pack. Even when that made things much harder on him.
*I feel like Quinn would need to give them a little more info about his bad experience with bonds too and knowing that, I think they'd be even more reactive and keyed in to Quinn's bond once it was better. Like when you've got a bruise and you don't put a bandaid over it, you just hold it a little more carefully.

the rest of the pack feel panic, most of all. which, coming from quinn, they have literally never felt. quinn has never panicked in games, he's never panicked in front of the media, they don't even feel it when quinn pats down his pockets and realises he's left his phone somewhere. but panic's a big emotion, and quinn's already lost his grip on things from the very start of the conversation, and the way it ripples through their bond is very, very strange and alarming. it's also, like, a subconscious resistance that's very strong as well, like the bond has its own defence system that spikes up the moment it thinks it feels something that might hurt it. it's basically a big red alarm saying no no no, and the pack immediately jump on that, re: heads go straight for quinn. even jared being right there isn't quite enough to get them to chill out immediately and leave it in his hands.
but the second time in the med bay, quinn's body has totally shut down the other pack (final stages and chances of getting the other pack), and therefore the wild pack actually don't feel anything at all. jared gets... little tiny droplets of them, but quinn's totally shut off from them. they feel spurge's panic moreso, and that's the best indication they have about how things are going in that room. spurge is usually really good at keeping himself level, but his anxiety is so high the entire time that everyone's on edge.
i failed to mention this in the fic LOL but jared relays pieces of info back to the team. mostly because he doesn't know what will come through the bond (no one's really ever had to share a guy in the pack before, will devils bleed through quinn into the pack? no one knows), so he kinda gives them a... very vague head's up while quinn's out. when quinn's up and walking again, he very much encourages quinn to tell the team the entire story asap because they're got pieces but not the entire puzzle etc.
and yesss the thing with two bonds is that quinn can no longer keep patching up the leaks LOL, everythingggg starts bleeding through. he's throwing rocks everywhere. so when vancouver kinda comes into question, everyone turns to look at quinn because they can feel that reaction and the response. the good news is they can also feel how much quinn wants to stay w/ minny and loves them so. there's that side of things too!
