Sure, the cold never really bothered her, but that didn’t mean Haverly didn’t like an excuse to curl up under a big, fluffy blanket and do nothing but watch movies all day. And on a particularly cold and windy day like it was, she was taking advantage of the chill to, well, chill. And who better to chill with than her favorite cousin and movie critic. “Why isn’t this movie played like all the time though, like really?” She asked, munching on a bit of popcorn while Fiona closed herself into her cave and giggling at Shrek and Donkey’s confusion. “Like really, this movie is how old now? And it’s still a lot better than half the movies out today.” Haverly paused for a second, as if pondering that statement over. “Maybe even like… three quarters of them.”

Maybe some people would’ve thought it was sad or weird that Bori’s best friends were his cousins, but those people just weren’t lucky enough to have as great of a family as he did. It was nice to get days where he wasn’t filming or editing an AuraTube movie commentary video and where his and Haverly’s schedules lined up enough to do something lowkey. Watching Shrek with his favorite person? Who could ask for a better relaxation day?
He put down his hot apple cider at the question and smiled, glad that somebody got it. “I’d vote it’s better than 90% of movies now,” Bori laughed. “But honestly, it’s probably because it became such a meme. Memes have a way of immortalizing things one way or another or -- oh, this is the best part!” he yelled, silencing himself as Donkey started to question Shrek as to why he had walls up in the first place, on who he was trying to keep out.
“Everyone, all right?” Bori said in time with Shrek, though the desperation in his voice no way matched the film’s superiority. As the monologue went on, Bori mouthed along word by word, a heavy and adoring sigh leaving his body when he was done, when Shrek sadly admitted “They judge me before they even know me. That’s why I’m better off alone.”
“Pure poetry,” he sighed again, looking at the television like it was his one true love. “It makes you laugh, it makes you cry! What more do people want? Just because the third movie wasn’t as good, it shouldn’t erase all this. You’re the only one in the world who understands me.”

Diplomatic means you have to be good at talking though, right? Which Artie totally is, and good for him, but I'm not. I mean, I'm good at talking a lot, but that's not the same thing. Is there a choice that's not wimpy or diplomatic but somewhere in between?

Neither of those sound like a time where violence is necessary to me, if I'm being honest. Someone challenging your honor or the honor of someone you care about already lost by being so dumb as to challenge other people's honors at all, and bars have security guards for that... but hey, that's all one wimpy boy's opinion. And I mean real wimpy. I was scared of pigeons till I was thirteen.

Welp, I’m calling it now. I hate the basic dude bros in my Physiological Basis of Voluntary Movement class even more than I hate the class itself. One guy literally walked in today and tried to tell me I was in the wrong class. Buddy, I’ve unfortunately been here since the first day of class, and you calling me “girly” doesn’t help.
Anyways, I hope everyone else’s classes aren’t sucking as bad as mine.
Yikes! I have to admit, I've never been great at hanging out with basic bro dude types and I've always seen that as a bad thing because, you know, guy friends. But if that's how they act, I guess I'm glad. I hope ignoring them gets easier? Or better yet, that they stop being jerks.
And my classes are...fine? I have to write and direct a short film by the end of the semester and I have no idea what to do for that, like, at all. My whole grade in this class is based on this one project so its high stress.

Haley: So sort of like BeastFeed? Are the cast of the videos as cute as the people on BeastFeed? Becuase ngl that's like, a major selling point for me! I can't even think of like 73 other animated movies but I also like, missed 17 years of learning that kind of stuff.

Bori: Sort of! Formatted differently though. Exhibit A, you don't actually SEE any of the people doing the countdowns. It's all voice overs and video clips which I personally like better tbh but to each their own! I have a movie critique channel on AuraTube too, which mainly focuses on animated movies and could probably catch you up on the learning you missed, but if cuteness of the host matters that much I can recommend some other channels!
Bori: I can't tell if I find Shrek and chill hot or vastly offensive to the movie lol.
Bori: It WAS cute and beautiful and emotionally deep, I'm not saying it wasn't! It's a great movie that explains complex ideas as simply to children as it can without talking down to them and while also being entertaining for any-aged viewer. It's just that we live in a time where there's a LOT of movies that fit in that criteria now, so while Inside Out is probably top tier, having it be number one feels hasty. There's a lot for it to compare to.

“I like real vampires, like, the ones I can hang out with back home. But vampires in fiction are mostly a bust – especially in Twilight. Like, deep dish pizza? Chorizo? I’m all for those! Tots and hashbrowns just aren’t my thing, sorry!”

There's this series on Crownflix called SuperMonsters about preschoolers who are human in the daytime and monsters at night and they're just so wholesome and play together and learn the values of sharing and friendship and despite having monsters in the title it's one of the least scary and most happy things I've ever watched. Plus its educational! Also Abominable is coming out soon in theaters -- it looks like it'll be another awesome DreamWorks movie, have you heard of it?
