Living it up, launching a book is all well and good until the M.E fairy reminds you it's called a chronic illness for a reason!
In Sisterhood
I was hoping to have written a couple of blog posts this week; sharing my joy and being able to talk to people about my book, sharing the strength and solidarity that is International Womenâs Day.  Unfortunately, I have been in bed since Tuesday with Bronchitis and Iâm still there, though able to breathe a little bit easier. (chocking coughing while you wet your pants is not a vibe I wouldâŚ
Happy Reading
Itâs been a funny week. All the excitement of a book out in the world, and a fair amount of stress. Yesterday I was brilliantly delivering a writing workshop with some magnificent women, signing books and being fabulous. Today Iâve barely made it off the sofa, my throat so exhausted I can barely speak. I canât even muster a witty retort to the Misterâs lamentations and prayers that the mightyâŚ

This week's blog is all about boundaries, farming your family for content, and how I'm just pushing on through.
Really Living With M.E
The M.E fairy is not happy. If youâve never met her, she is small and green and thinks she is the boss of me. In reality she is the boss of me, but we donât need to tell her that. She likes lying down. Thatâs pretty much it. She likes lying down which means that I have to lie down too. There is a lot that she doesnât like. She doesnât like; (in no particular order) Noise of anyâŚ
Shut Up!
Itâs been a mad few weeks here, getting ready for the book to come out. (Donât pull that confused face, I know I told you I wrote a book!) The books arrived from the publishers! I made an arse of myself on Instagram, getting all giddy about my flaps! (Seriously, get your mind out of the gutter.) How pretty are these? Somethings have been difficult and sad, others have been so utterly bat-shitâŚ
This week's post where I try to work out my feelings about publishing a memoir
I was going to write a blog post.
I was going to write a blog post. It was going to be full of the normal New Year roundups â how many books I read last year. How many I didnât buy; Hooray! for the library. How many I actually bought anyway. It would have been fascinating, incisive, obviously witty, full of smart things to say about the brilliant books that I may or may not have read. So, I was going to write a blog post. ButâŚ

I am...
I am annoyed. We could change the name of the blog to I AM ANNOYED, as Iâm pretty much always annoyed, but that would be really annoying, as ANNOYED is one of the words I struggle to spell. Mind, so is the word RESISTANCE, and I put that in my book title. So, Iâm annoyed. Actually, thatâs not entirely true; itâs more that everything is really annoying. Thereâs the usual fuck-wits parking onâŚ
A blog post from my archives as I settle in with the scent of baking 'Phone on loudspeaker, in the olden days it was tucked under my chin, now with more chins, itâs more likely to be a video call, I call the kids in turn. âMake a wish,â I sing down the line, sometimes waking them, sometimes catching them at work. âMake a wish,â I shout at voicemail as I stir the cake mix for each in turn. They thought me magical as kids, mad as teens, making them wish on cake mix. âBut it canât be Christmas without wishes,â Iâd whisper, hugging them in reply.'
