part seven

so, yesterday i explained the first of two subsets i have determined fall under the coastal academia umbrella.

coastal academia: dockside was yesterday’s topic.

and coastal academia: seaside is today’s.

when i first thought of the coastal academia aesthetic, this was what i imagined.

shores covered in the faded footprints of a scholar lost in thought.

the ratty sheets torn off your dorm mattress, turned to a makeshift picnic blanket for wine-filled study dates.

the gull’s feather bookmark in your journal.

a local cafe, the perfect study spot after high season is gone. bleached floorboards dusted in sand.

a salt breeze through your open window. papers flutter in the still-warm air.

Another day of being in the lab :) I'm very tired today- I think the lack of sleep/not eating enough is wearing me down. I'm trying to fix it, but it's a bit difficult. Anyway! Another week closer to going home + starting a new semester!

Like when Gandalf spent literal PAGES trying to figure out why the vibes were off in Moria and Legolas chimes in with just "it's a balrog :) that shit's evil :) we're so fucked :)" like what do you MEAN you knew already and just didn't tell him??

Or at the beginning of Two Towers when Aragorn thinks there's something nearby so he puts his ear to the ground to listen, and then like 10 minutes later is like "hmmm i hear horses" and Legolas is just like "mm yep. there are 105 blond bitches with spears" like you just let your friend put his face in the dirt and you can SEE them??

gandalf is scratching his head in moria, and legolas is thinking "oh man, the wizard noticed something off *besides* the obvious balrog that we all are aware of??"

Steve’s parents died shortly after he gets the family video job. He tells no one and keeps working even though he’s got MASSIVE inheritance now.

He sort of forgets that he shouldn’t be able to afford paying for all of his friends but no one really questions it bc he always bitches about paying even though he’s more than happy to he just likes being difficult
