âYou need to realise something if you are ever to succeed at chess,â she said, as if Nora had nothing bigger to think about. âAnd the thing you need to realise is this: the game is never over until it is over. It isnât over if there is a single pawn still on the board. If one side is down to a pawn and a king, and the other side has every player, there is still a game. And even if you were a pawn â maybe we all are â then you should remember that a pawn is the most magical piece of all. It might look small and ordinary but it isnât. Because a pawn is never just a pawn. A pawn is a queen-in-waiting. All you need to do is find a way to keep moving forward. One square after another. And you can get to the other side and unlock all kinds of power.â The thing that looks the most ordinary might end up being the thing that leads you to victory. You have to keep going.

For the cynic
Our current cosmic address is a small flying piece of rubble travelling through an endless black void, surrounded inexplicably by seven other pieces of flying rubble.
All of these pieces harmoniously rotate around the same giant fireball without ever crashing into each other, or hurtling themselves into said fireball.
And if that isnât random enough, out of all those pieces of rubble ours is the only one that sustains an environment that gives life to billions of different life forms, including a multitude of flowering plants and oxygen-giving trees, a plethora of wildlife, and eight billion human beings.
And somehow, you still genuinely think that magic does not exist, that fairytales arenât real, that the way people find each other at just the right time at just the right moment isnât the most powerful sorcery. - NIKITA GILL(FIERCE FAIRYTALES)
breaking news: not every book needs to be made into a movie, some books work better as just books

"Clary, you're an artist, like your mother. That means you see the world in ways that other people don't. It's your gift, to see the beauty and the horror in ordinary things. It doesn't make you crazyâjust different. There's nothing wrong with being different." - city of bones ( the mortal instruments)
I changed ?!
A lot.
KANEJ
âKaz,â she asked suddenly. âWhy crows?â âThe crow and cup? Probably because crows are scavengers. They take the leavings.â âI donât mean the Dregs tattoo. Thatâs as old as the gang. Why did you adopt it? Your cane. The Crow Club. You could have chosen a new symbol, built a new myth.â Kazâs bitter coffee eyes remained trained on the horizon, the rising sun painting him in pale gold light. âCrows remember human faces. They remember the people who feed them, who are kind to them. And the people who wrong them too.â â Really?â He nodded slowly. âThey donât forget. They tell each other who to look after and who to watch out for. Inej,â Kaz said

forevermore
!!disclaimer: this happens a few years after crooked kingdom, when both Inej and Kaz had already healed a lot!!
this fanfiction was written by me and @wormholetoxanadu on Instagram. Credits for the idea go to them.
Gathered in the light of the morning sun, Inej Ghafa stood on the rotting plywood in a broken, long abandoned part of Ketterdam. She began examining her knives as she waited, repeating the names of the Saints in her mind. She wanted her Saints to join her today. She didn't have to wait that long, a dark figure, morning light glinting off his cane soon coming into view.
"Kaz Brekker," she whispered softly, a small smile spreading over her face.
He swept her up in an embrace. They were to be married today.
Since Inej was a little girl she dreamt of what her wedding would be like. She'd invite her family and friends, and she'd be somewhere outside in the open, maybe even on a roof. She'd decorate the place with symbols of her Saints and dress in beautiful red silk, however Kaz never liked the idea of a wedding. Although at first Inej was disappointed she couldn't have her idea, she later on realized not having a celebration like she first wanted was a sacrifice she could easily make. So they decided to do it without anyone knowing about it.
In an abandoned warehouse, with the dew and old wood as their only witness. They took their places in front of the light as Inej took in a shuddering breath. In her mind she repeated the names of her Saints one more time. Then she clasped her right arm around Kaz's waist, feeling his rough tunic underneath her fingers. He placed his left gloved hand in her hair.
There was only love in each other's eyes. "I, Inej Ghafa take you, Kaz Brekker to be mine. As long as the stars shine and the moon rises. As long as the sun promises to wake up, I am yours and you are mine. Under the watchful guidance of my Saints, I take you forevermore." A tear slipped her eye as she handed a knife to him. Sankta Alina.
Most people would give each other rings, proudly wear them on their fingers. But Kaz didn't want Inej to feel like she didn't have any free will and neither of them in general were that fond of rings. So they decided to exchange something important to them, a part of them, something they have had their whole life, or at least a big part of it. Although Inej wasn't fond of giving up her knife, Kaz had promised her he'd give it to her when she needed it. Now he tucked the knife safely in his pocket.
"I, Kaz Rietveld, take you, Inej Ghafa to be mine. You made me believe in love again. A strength beyond compare. Joy more than a million kruge could ever produce when a laugh escapes your lips. I am yours and you are mine. Forevermore." He handed her his right glove. A part of him. A part of her. Inej slipped it on her right hand, touching his face with her bare hand.
Neither of them moved.
The birds sang outside, and a wind traveled in bringing the scent of blooming trees. When in a broken, crowded Ketterdam trees bloomed and birds were singing, you knew anything was possible.

Like the two most dangerous people of the city getting married and promising to love each other forevermore.
