Comments upon comments whining that "THAT'S NOT MY WES" and "RECAST WES" and "WHERE'S WYATT AUBE" like GOOD FUCKING CHRIST CAN WE NOT JUST BE HAPPY THAT WE'RE *GETTING* A MOVIE??

The casting call for Wes literally said that they were looking at any race/ethnicity to play Wes, and then people are losing their shit and making a big stink when "*GASSSP* W-WES IS BEING PLAYED BY A MIXED RACE ACTOR OF MEXICAN, ITALIAN, AND PUETRO RICAN DESCENT?! WHERE'S MY PERFECT WHITE WES?!" why??? did you not comprehend/consider the possibility we might get a mixed race actor for Wes? (I swear, if Wes were played by a Black actor, all hell would have broken loose, worse than it CURRENTLY is...)

And even to the people who AREN'T upset for racist reasons, you're allowed to be disappointed, please don't get me wrong, but don't be OBNOXIOUS. either be respectful about having someone else in mind/being bummed out that your dream cast didn't come true, or just keep it to yourself!

Race is never mentioned for Wes, nor does it affect his character in any way, so why are we crying so much over the cast? and all while saying your favorite white male (who is not even an actor mind u) would be better.

When the whole discourse around her weight loss started several years ago, many people have immediately warned that commenting on her weight would only enable her in her ED. Which is true. That’s basically Anorexia 101: You don’t comment on their bodies. Yet people obviously didn’t listen and even though she only continued losing more weight as time went on, they still believed that their comments will miraculously cure her.

And I’m not talking about those vile comments that are degrading and ridiculing her – those are awful on its own. But it’s the constant need for people to comment on her body – positive or negative – that harms her, if she truly does suffer from anorexia.

On top of that are all those comments shaming and vilifying her, partly even from her own fans. Shame does not work in a situation like this. It has never worked and will never work. She won’t suddenly get healthy overnight. Recovering from anorexia is extremely difficult.

So many people seem to immediately assume that no one is helping her for some reason – possibly because they think that if she did have help, she would’ve already gained weight. But the truth is that recovery takes time. Someone who’s been starving their body won’t immediately gain weight again. They might also relapse repeatedly. And, in the end, even starting recovery might not help them, because at some point, their body would simply give up, no matter how hard they try. That’s what makes anorexia such an incredibly dangerous and fatal disease.

And again, she might not even have anorexia at all. But so many people assume that’s what she's struggling with, and yet their responses towards it are still incredibly hostile and harm her more than they would help her.

Which is why I can’t take anyone defending their cruel words towards her as “concern” seriously. If they were actually concerned, they would be careful on how to approach the subject and not post whatever crosses their mind, no matter the possible harm. But you can already tell that they never truly cared, because instead of being happy that she’s taking a break, they’re pissed at her for stating “public scrutiny” as the reason, insulting her even further.
