It's so funny to me that between the Mary twins Bloody is actually the normal one. Like he has so much going on with him, but more or less all of it can be linked back to trauma and very desperately wanting to die for 400 years, meanwhile Mary is just Like That. His position in the story sort of takes away the perspective of what an absolute freak (affectionate) he was even when he was human. His feelings, goals and plans are straightforward and overall reasonable, but on every other level there's so much wrong with him and it's plot relevant because if his thought patterns were even 5% more normal both twins would have died way before that night. The narrative loves to bully Bloody for being the way that he is while Mary's actions check out with the type of character he is, but if you look at it in-universe Bloody doesn't even get anywhere near matching Mary's freak and I love them both for it.
