oh, give them a little push and pull, i see. as for the vibe of the music? i want to say raw in a way that outdoes me being that way and vulnerable in our last album. maybe how you feel when you're tripping over yourself, falling in love. i think.

i was talking to someone the other day and the topic of winter holidays - in the middle of april, i know - came up, which led to them telling me that they have a christmas playlist that's on rotation no matter what season it is. so i'm wondering: how early is too early to start thinking about it all? if you celebrate, are you counting down to halloween all year? fall festivals: yay or nay? threw the last question in just because but there is a right answer. @limelightblvdstarters

i honestly don't think that it's ever too early to start thinking about it all... it might sound a little crazy but christmas always seems to be the biggest holiday of the year so it's better to have all your plans set up well in advance. i count down to halloween when it gets closer, but right now? i don't bother too much. also a big yay to fall festivals, though depending on how you define them. i'm sure it's probably different from where i grew up. are you a fan of the colder or warmer months?

moooooood. people are asking me when i'm getting back in the studio and i literally want to crawl inside myself at the thought alone. don't get me wrong - sometimes the process isn't the worst in the world but the other things? it's a whole ass bitch.

when are you getting back in the studio? i'm kidding, though i do want to say that i adore you and your music though! it's the patience and the promos that aren't exactly my strong suit.

In a way, I totally get this. For me, I was always ready to get out on the field and play soccer. The media stuff was always harder for me. 5 albums is impressive though! I’ll definitely have to check out your music. Do you prefer working on full albums or EPs instead?

oh, don't even start me on the promo side of things. i'm awkward with social media so trying to promote our songs is hell for me. personally, i love working on albums more. our earlier days we did a couple EPs, but soon scrapped them. i'm always writing, so we never have a shortage of ideas or directions to go in.

no but i have used my two little sisters as excuses. do they know this? no. do i want them to know? maybe when they're a little older and will find it as amusing as i did at the time. for now, they're still at that age where they would get upset and not speak to me as punishment. that just means that you made a song that people can identify with, one that gets them going. it surely did for me. Coffee at Midnight, going listen now. wait - why do you refuse to play it? what's wrong with it? or is it another one the fans want to be done every time?

oh, what's it like to have siblings? i can only imagine and live through others, being an only child and such- it has it's fun and perks, though gets lonely most days. oh, that one is just another case of being overplayed. it's only of our really older songs, so over the years i just have gotten tired with it. it's also uhh, there's a particular drum beat in it, that i can't sing over as well live so i end up out of time from it. you'd be surprised though, i'm also really good at forgetting lyrics too.

That's very nice of you to say. I feel as though I look cooler than I am. Once you actually know me, I'm pretty boring. Getting to be that raw and vulnerable in front of the world seems like both a blessing and a curse. Surely it helps process everything going on in your life, but you have to guard yourself too. I wouldn't blame you for keeping somethings to yourself. Protect yourself before anything else. Did you always know music was going to be the thing you would do for the rest of your life?

oh don't worry, if i'm being really honest, i'm the same- pretty boring once you get to know me. it is very much a blessing and a curse to be that raw and vulnerable to the world, but if it's something that would help others with anything that they're going through, then i think it's worth it. though, there are most definitely the more deeper things i keep to myself. it took me quite a while to not just dance around topics or emotions, even in songs. music was always something that i wanted to be a part of, i knew that from when i was a child.

I mean not career-ending, no, but definitely the kind of trouble where you’re suddenly having very serious conversations with very serious people. But I get it. The temptation is real when you’re sitting on something you’re excited about and no one else has heard it yet. It’s like, why am I gatekeeping my own music? Still, I feel like controlled chaos is the way to go. Tease it, hint at it, drive people a little bit mad… but keep the actual drop in your hands. That’s where the power is. Call it delayed gratification.

i hate gatekeeping my own music like that, it's so silly. it feels like i have to sit on my own hands just to keep myself calm enough. though, driving people a little mad at the worst of times is one of my specialties so maybe i should lean into that a little.

anyone who says they like that process i think is completely bullshitting. even when the inspiration is high, there's still bumps or the sound isn't just right or something else. i wish there was like a 101 to take to make the process easier but i guess that's what makes the release of everything feel that much more rewarding.

oh, the amount of times i've had to just redo something, because it just hasn't hit right is insane. maybe we should do a 101 in the studio guide. though, it was only be just a guide as everyone's experiences can be different. some days i love it, and then others i just really hate it and can't wait for the day to be over.

We aren't always given tomorrow. So say fuck it! Whats that saying? Its better to ask for forgiveness then permission. I don't know who you are or what you did. That good enough?

yeah, i suppose that's one way to look at it, tomorrow isn't always guaranteed. i feel like i should know that anyways, since the last album was sort of based on that premise. lightly. but exactly, that's perfect. i like that, you heard or seen absolutely nothing.

That must be one of the hardest things about recording for an album. I hear so many different stories and things about how much goes into this process. What would you say is the hardest in your opinion? For me it sounds like everything could be and I don't know if I would have the patience for it.

oh, i think it is definitely is one of the hardest parts-- it's the waiting. the little in between having an album done and releasing it. it also makes me so antsy and nervous, and it usually goes into second-guessing if any of it is even good. i love getting to spend time in the studio though, trying to perfect everything and bring it all together. it's so rewarding to see just lyrics that were once just on paper or on your notes app, just brought to life in a song.

it could definitely work. using your fur child as any reason to get away with something that people have been doing for a long time. plus animal lovers will just think it's the cutest thing to ever happen. they'll let it slide and enjoy the new music. Stand Atlantic. have to admit that i had never heard of your band, i'm sorry, but after checking out some of your songs i'm now a converted fan. Hate Me (Sometimes) is now on at least three of my playlists that i listen to often.

have you ever used a fur child as an excuse? i mean, even in school and your basic ate ya homework? Hate Me is definitely one of my favourites too, though if i can avoid playing it at a show i would. i think i've played it so much since it came out, but it's what the fans seem to love. another song like that is also Coffee At Midnight.. i absolutely refuse to play that one.

some days i have the same problem. honestly. when you have this great idea for a song, you get all the lyrics down, the music just right in your head and then you have to stand in the recording studio tryin' to get it just perfect on the tracks. it can become a real pain in the ass. i think it's the ADHD that keeps my brain wired, there are times where i just have to take a break and go for a run or something 'cause i'm just so jittery and i need to get some energy out haha. but most days i'm ready to lay it down and get it done so that we can get it out to the fans.

i fear i'll often wake up in the middle of the night with some idea i think is fantastic and i always have to jot it down before it leaves my head forever. i also feel like you can get to a point too, where you kind of just have to take a step back for a little bit and do something else... i never thought of running though, maybe i should try that next time. i'm the same though, i just want to do new music for them, and let them have it at their fingertips already.

your label isn't letting you release a few singles before the whole thing is complete? wouldn't it make all the sense in the world to get a few new songs out there to drive up the hype and get your fan base buzzing about new music? i know i'm not a singer so i have probably no idea how it actually works but still. have you leaked your music before?

oh, the label will.. eventually. though, as for leaking my own music... a few weeks ago i accidentally connected to the neighbours bluetooth speaker while trying to listen to a mastered track... so that counts, right? i sure hope they loved that.

see when I first teased angel of my dreams I wanted t' leak It so badly before anyone else would get to do it, sometimes even a little snippet isn't enough of leaking, t' worst part is when ye' get hacked and you haven't done it yourself and you are annoyed. now tell me when are we going t' be getting new music?
