does mitski have a daughter? i was listening to Buffalo Replaced and the last verse stood out to me

“I have a hope and, though, she is blind, with no name

She shits where she’s supposed to, feeds herself while I’m away

Sometimes I think it would be easier without her

But I know nothing could hurt me when I see her sleeping face”

Now if she doesn’t have a daughter, this is such a genius way to characterize hope. It’s considered “childish” to have hope as you get older but this verse demonstrates how she appreciates it. yes she may neglect her “child” at times but at the end of the day when hope is resting, being replenished, it is as if nothing can hurt you. anyways this song is a deep cut and i could talk abt it all day. i js wonder if anyone else thinks this was her soft launching her child or js another way mitski personified hope in her song!

it has multiple works from his perspective from each book. the only thing i can remember is that the fic started off with katniss going to his wrestling match and then the day of the reaping
