they are both creations to fulfill a specific task (protecting the city of wizards and being the virtue of knowledge) and both failed at their respective jobs, stardust not being what they wanted and smc getting corrupted. Both resent their creators so much that they attacked the very thing that caused their creation (stardust the city and smc everyone lol) they distance themselves from their past stardust in a healthy way and smc in trying to destroy timelines. They carry shame for not being enough in impossible circumstances

despite being similar in past they are quite different, Stardust is a more softspoken, refined, elegant, open-minded, and (usually) more calm then the craze of everything that is smc. Stardust hasn't heard anything about him so smc doesn't have any preplanned ideas to hide behind and with how curious stardust is he is bound to seek more of the other. in that way they contrast each other adding a layer of compassion for one to help the other mostly just stardust cause smc's "advice" is just to destroy everything

continuing from the last point they balance each other out, stardust cooler curiosity and soft-spoken-ness against the sharp, fast bending of smc, they become each others floats I also like to think that SMC sees Stardust as kind of a muse in a way

Stardust doesn't know a thing about earthbread (at least as far as we can assume from being in space for most of his centuries that he has been alive for) and fount of knowledge probably has limited knowledge on what's beyond earth bread. they can teach each other things

both are powerful magic users with Stardust having powerful (albeit uncontrollable) moonlight magic in him and smc is... self explanatory

both just want love and to be loved, accepted and not pushed to limits they cant reach

both are "monsters" in a way with stardust's avian form and everything that is smc. Smc would open up about how monstruous he is (*enter the i dont know why I bite scene from whatever movie its from*)And stardust shows him his avian form,

"your not the only monster here." as he looks away in shame smc looks at him spellbound at just how wonderous he is, the fiery eyes and hair, the wings with a thousand stars shinning and just how the stars seem to frame him in this light that makes him look divine. He'd make stardust face him, softly, with more reverence then he has ever had in his long life and certainly since he had become a beast. "please look at yourself..." were words so breathy that if it weren't for the proximity they were at it would be another prayer lost to the breeze. Stardust starts to say something, "I-" "Your the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He cuts him off in that same trance like tone wearing the most sincerest smile that to anyone else looks off on his usually grin written smirk. but not to stardust. No, no, no... to stardust that soft smile looks hand carved by the witches themselves to fit shadow milk, and he gets to see such a face none have, and none ever will. Its a face that Shadow milk will only give to the one person who fills him with such joy and awe at creation. Only to him. And Stardust rejoices in it.

I can only imagine Stardust’s vacant expression goads SMC into trying to either make him angry to see if he can show anger or make him blush.

Like I think Stardust has this dead face that rarely ever changes- he can give the smallest, softest smiles when he’s with friends. SMC wants to be the first and maybe only cookie to get a full face smile.

I really want Stardust Cookie to have a very strong friendship with Doughnut Cookie and teach SMC how to talk to him :3

Like if he spent all day trying to bother him and when the day ends and he’s given up- Stardust kisses him on the cheek and is smiling a tiny bit and blushing just as much before thanking him for spending the whole day with him- or something like that! A sparkle in his eye as he floats a way- maybe to go ask his sister (Moonlight Cookie) for some advice or to just gossip (Doughnut cookie sitting next to them with a face mask and stardust is braiding moonlight cookies hair).
