also damn the animation budget jumped in s4, it's weird to remember how clunky it was sometimes before that. and there's some moments in this one (and Moment of Truth) where Catra's nearly off-model tbh. not here tho.

ever noticed that out of all the characters, Catra's the one who often can't make eye contact? I feel like she does it when she's lying about/suppressing her feelings. Like the "This is not bc I like you" in s1 when she givs the sword back. Or the one in s5 before they leave to get the failsafe. I know there's more times she's shown unable to make eye contact and I'm forgetting.

the pouty little face she makes when Scorpia says, "forget Adora!" Girl. you are going to think about this moment later and wish you could go back in time and slap some sense into yourself.

But it's so interesting that she immediately blames Adora and not. y'know. Shadow Weaver. Like girl you're blaming her for something she didn't do. But also, the fucking. Getting abandoned and put in harm's way bc SW prefers Adora to her is just a pile of salt in an huge raw wound.

Also great analysis as usual -- it's just so much easier to blame Adora for everything bc of their literal programming since they were babies, it's so sad ;w;
