Misophonia is when someone feels irrationally angry or irritated by certain sounds. The most common sounds that can trigger it are what the Reddit person mentioned: mouth sounds.
No, I’m not saying that this person is absolutely innocent in all of this, but maybe some talking with their boyfriend could help. I can absolutely see where everyone is coming from; ppl with tics being aggravated that someone is getting annoyed from someone else’s involuntary tics, and the Reddit poster being a bit distraught over having feelings they straight up can’t control because they have an undiagnosed disorder that they may not even know they have.

I agree it sounds like misophonia and directed them to a forum for that. I really just don't think it's appropriate to come into a space full of people who have been told our whole lives that we are annoying, aggravating, obnoxious, etc that you can't deal with someone's tics. Also in the comments this person insists on talking to their partner about it against everyone's advice- if you're different that's fine- but someone pointing out a tic that is aggravating them will 100% make me have that tic more and even that tic will be triggered by them.
I'm tired of people coming into tourettic spaces and complaining about us even if it is because of a condition of their own. They need to find a different place to do that, perhaps on a forum for loved ones of tourettics, therapy, or a misophonia support group.
