bruce almost breaks when he says no thank you to alfred, who offers syrup for his french toast, and then two seconds later, jason-- his syrup loving sweetheart (seriously, it's a little concerning)-- chirps a very serious "no thank you, alfred" when the syrup is offered to him next. he ends up having to pour himself some when jason doesn't stop yearningly glancing at the bottle just so his little boy can enjoy his regularly-scheduled syrup-drenched french toast rather than suffering through the dry version to be like his dad
