sudden thought I’m throwing into the ether:

Bloodymary The Last of Us AU

Grace is the mycologist the government called to examine Patient Zero, and terrified of the implications, he tries to flee the country with everything he knows. They catch him before he reaches the airport and throw him in jail.

Cue the night everything goes to shit and the chaos triggers massive panic in the jail. Cell doors are thrown open, inmates are being killed, officers are being mauled, and Grace is terrified out of his skin, 100% he’s going to die.

Cue a death row convict with an overwhelming drive for survival saving him from being mauled to death. The guy runs off on his own, and Grace, panicking, follows him.

They make it out, they run for the hills, and now have to figure out what to do with each other.

#aka the original bill and frank scenario #but I want their dynamic to be like. Sam and Eric from A Quiet Place #you know the one #BONUS POINTS IF SIMON GOT BIT AT THE JAIL AND HES IMMUNE #but they don’t know it so Simon is slowly being consumed by guilt and Grace starts thinking up ways to find an impossible cure for him #anyway dynamic wise it’s like.#I like to imagine simon barreling on focused on surviving and grace following like a soppy wet puppy so scared with no idea what to do #or where to go #but this guy looks strong so he’ll try to stay close #AND THEN ROCKY SOMEHOW because of course we can’t leave him behind #WAIT ERID BEING AN ESTABLISHED SANCTUARY #rocky joining them mid-trip and leading them back home to safety (and to his Adrian dreamy sigh)#anyway simon and grace bonding in a post-apocalyptic zombie world and maybe falling in love WHO SAID THAT #weird…#bloodymary #ryland grace #simon iron lung #simon the convict #the last of us #tlou au
