Summary: One night in the loft, Lex finds Clark's telescope pointed at the girl-next-door's house. She and Clark talk about what it is that Clark really wants.

One of three fics I had in the works for clex week and the only one I managed to complete but I loved exploring the really early series clex dynamic. All of my wip ideas lately have been post-series which I love but it was also really nice to return to the beginning which I thought worked well for this event!

Snippet:

“Slow down,” Lex murmurs, rubbing her face against Clark’s cheek. “We have all night.”

“Uh—my parents will probably check in before they go to bed.”

“So we’ll have a sleepover.” Lex grins. She mostly said it as a joke but now that she thinks about it—lacy pajamas with no bra, lounging around all night, curled up on the couch in the den back at the mansion. There are far worse ways to spend an evening, especially if it’s an evening doing this. “It’ll be perfectly innocent.”

“Somehow I doubt that,” says Clark but it doesn’t sound like she disapproves. Far from it.

“Your parents won’t.” Lex knows that they have tried to dissuade Clark from getting too close to her. They don’t approve of her father, they don’t approve of her, but ultimately, they have yet to find a good enough reason to prevent Clark from spending time with her.

If they had any idea what she and Clark were currently getting up to, they would have reason to forbid Clark from ever seeing her again. They might even have reason to charge Lex with a crime—the law about sexual relationships between women is unclear, but a sexual relationship with a minor is much more straightforward. But unless they see the two of them going at it with their own eyes, the idea will never, ever occur to them. That’s just the way relationships between girls are. Lex and Clark are such good friends.

“You’ll stay over at the mansion one night and I’ll give you something of mine to wear,” Lex muses, selling the idea to both of them in a casual, lilting voice. “We’ll watch a movie and have popcorn. You’ll let me do your make up and braid your hair.” She pulls a little at Clark’s hair near the roots and gets Clark to gasp. “And if you’re very good, we can get up to some other things too.”

She expects that to make Clark nervous, aroused but anxious. Instead, Clark bites at her lower lip and says, “Like what?”
