Client: oh, no, I've been giving it whenever she's itchy which isn't every day

Me: the bottle says to give 1/2 twice per day for 14 days, you got it mid July, how many do you have left because you were given 14 pills

Client: I do not want to give my cat the gabapentin as it causes her to be too lethargic at home

Me: your cat is very easily stressed and this is a blood pressure appointment so she will need to be still and quiet, please give your cat the sedatives as prescribed

Client: no, she had her first dose 12 hours ago and is so lethargic that she's basically lifeless, the blood pressure will be easy to take

Me: it says in your cat's emotional chart that she is literally unhandleable without the gabapentin and that we go over this every time with you and you still insist on not giving her the meds, except when you actually do give them then we can perform diagnostics and treatment. Please give your cat her sedatives as prescribed.

Client: *shows up to appointment with unmedicated and very angry cat*

Client: it's like she knew the second we got into the car she became so enraged, oh I hope she is a good girl. The sedatives? No I'm not comfortable giving them to her so I didn't give them

Cat: *turns into a puffball of fury the second she's out of the carrier and attempts to attack the techs multiple times for even just the basic exam*

Client: well I just can't believe it. At home she was just sleeping all day. And now she's like this. Oh bad cat, I don't know what's gotten into her
