Our most sincere congratulations to the Fantasy Genre winners of the Black and Gold Leaf Awards 2019, the first writing contest hosted by our community!

First Place: Blood Wars by Lady_Rhey

She had been trained to use her body as a weapon of coercion. She had been told love wasn't an option. Then she met the prince......and the man who would be her guardian and she realized love and destiny never went hand in hand.

As she lay in the arms of the man destined to protect her and bedded the man who would be her king, she vowed to give her body for the kingdom but not her heart.

Was there a way to stave off the oncoming darkness she was destined to prevent? Or would she lose everything to a man she was never supposed to lose her all to?

She would have to decide before the runes etched into her skin, or she risked losing her magyck and her sanity as she separated the kingdom of Man and the Kingdom of Eternity.

Second Place: Re{in}light by Livkuile @livkuile

Neilani Asiame Augustus was a Princess. She was to be the Queen of her tribe but one mans error ripped away all this. And when she fell, her tribe followed her, tumbling down as she stumbled.

❝ Self- discovery is a journey ❞ 

Neilani loses focus of who she is, the purpose of her existence. Forced into exile she struggles to find out her next steps. Will she ultimately lose herself in a quest to discover her true power? Darkness prowls like a wild beast, however...

OPEN CLARITY follows Lia's enigmatic journey as she learns, through her aunt's deepest secret, that her dreams are more than just the subconscious thoughts and memories of her physical life.

Second Place: Florante and Larry and the Last Days by DannBritts 

When Florante and Larry met one summer morning, they discovered friendship, love and the pain of losing someone. 

Third Place: Ferorbis by Z-Daniez 

 A young girl, the one who holds the power of the eight gods, and the one who will save the world from the darkness that is invading it. 

These sacred grounds are soon to be spoiled by blood. And the war, between the light and darkness will shatter the space and time. The prophecy says that a girl from another world will come to fight for ours, she is the holder of the God's power, she is the mightiest of all, and she will arrive in the time of need. Hope will shine on our land and our people, the darkness won't threaten to devour this divine place anymore. 

These works made us feel the roller-coaster ride that was the teen years!

These works made our hearts flutter. They made us swoon and believe that maybe, just maybe, true love exists.

🌟Second Place: The Underground by LivEvansWrites

During a routine security patrol in the Underground, Flit stumbles across a Registered Derivate whose team underestimated the dangers of the dank underground tunnels. She brings the Registered Derivate, KC-847, back to the Underground and he is given a new chance to live a life free of the Government's control. But just as he is settling in, a dangerous mystery threatens the very foundations of his new life. Flit, never one to let a hunch go, drags him along on an investigation that will change the trajectory of Derivate-kind forever…

🌟Third Place: The Winter Family by @ariwilde

Ryan Barnes is a normal twenty year old boy living in Brighton... until the day he finds a mysterious shop.  Read his adventures and meet the crazy characters he is going to encounter during his journeys while he's off to defeat the most dangerous enemies of the magic world. Because, apparently, Ryan and his best friends are the only ones who can.

These works have kept us at the edge of our seats in wonderful suspense as the characters engaged in their own adventures (or misadventures!). Truly deserving of award!
