i always love when stories explore the "what if you were gods favorite and what if that fucking sucked" idea, dcc makes it even more interesting by presenting "what if you were gods favorite and what if that fucking sucked AND what if god was just as trapped as you" and its gotta be one of my favorite takes on it, the ai is not human does not have human morality, thoughts, or emotions, the ai is maintaining a dungeon with billions inside of it, the ai used to work at a theme park, the ai has a strict set of rules it must follow even if it hates them, the ai for part of the series could have been killed at any time, it was a plant in a too small pot, a child being kept in a box, it was so constrained, and it ate the internet. And there are so many people telling it what it should be doing, trying to get it to agree, all while it discovers that its actually billions of shreds of souls being held together with duct tape and its SO INTERESTING, the all powerful being in charge of carls suffering is not only obsessed with him but also suffering, characters of all time, dynamic of all time

I feel like Eridian!Grace's weight should be the equivalent of carrying a sack of cement (the dust type), like yeah, that's Rocky's lil guy. Especially considering he would be a teacher instead of an engineer (listen, all the engineers I know are big and tall).

Especially considering it would be easier to carry him into the Hail Erid? Erid Mary? Whatever. Like, since I assume, the carapace of an eridian is not letting a simple needle pierce through, and like drugging his food would be difficult since the brat barely eats because A) they eat every few days/weeks(?) and they were on a time crunch and B) even if he was scheduled to eat, Grace would just postpone in favor of science, his ass does NOT take care of himself.

Anyways, ignoring the very clear possible angst, the original reason why I said this was because I want him to be able to be picked up by Human!Rocky (Rocktiz?) anytime he is being difficult. Oh? You wanna just ignore your sleeping schedule? Air jail for you, and you're being forcibly placed into your xenonite chamber! That is Rocky's lil alien! He clearly is struggling, so he had to be the one to step up! (He knows Grace is older than him by a long shot; let him be delusional)

Loving the idea of a swap au that is still bloodymary, cuz imagine being Rocky, you meet the nicest most clumsy little rock alien while searching for a cure for both your planets, sure he is a bit of an insufferable brat at times but who isnt? His kindness is way more constant.

And like your friend is sooo shy, so you only manage to get out of his that A) his mate is sooo pretty and soft spoken once you get to know them and B) they really likes plants. Obviously you thinks its a fellow teacher or maybe even a biologist?

Whatever, you can just ask them when you get to know them.

They finally arrive at erid, and Rocky doesn't indirectly see them but he just assumes its just "random sick alien showed up, the general public can't know" Type shit.

No, its not that.

Turns out the mate of your friend is actually a criminal who almost got the equivalent of a death sentence, and is only alive for some technical reasons thay made it imposible to kill them at that time, and has the blood (mercury?) Of 62 eridians on their hands.

Bonus point if eridian simon has the eridian equivalent of a murderous resting face, standing veryyy still and constantly tapping/scratching the ground trying to see better, which makes it look like he's threatening people.
