Perpetuating Prophecy.

carla is cruz's in aunt in law, her husband who ran off deadbeat style when victor and pablo were young is cruz's uncle. she never bothered to change her last name or get properly legally seperated from him since she was kinda busy raising three kids

when they were young, she got the next door neighbor bella to babysit victor, pablo and cruz while she worked at the old car wash

as pictured above, bella! she wears pink, she's single and lives alone, she's carla's age and her hobbies include raising succulents so like she and carla are just suuuch good friends

she really didnt get to spend much time with victor pablo or cruz in their childhood between her days working to provide them and its her biggest regret

when watching cruzs first race she nearly had an engine failure three seperate times because watching her baby niece race in a real race track with real racecare got her stressed tf outtt. her soul nearly left her body when storm pushed cruz against the wall

to this day she can barely watch her race highlights because she gets so stressed out but shes supportive in other ways, always sending her supportive texs and such

she got to retire earlier than she expected after the tourism cruz's newfound fame brought their town

between her sons, she's not afraid to ask things from cruz now that she's the breadwinner and all but she does worry about bothering her too much

.speaking of, pablo and victor are sooo prideful and stubborn about not asking cruz for help

pablo eventually cracks first about learning its okay to ask his younger girl cousin for help but it takes victor a whiiiile and he still has a complex about it

while he also works at the car wash helping out his mom, he also runs around town doing odd jobs here and there for some quick change or the sake of helping he's a very gentle giant type, bit of a himbo

pablo is the most unconditionally supportive of cruz, a little jealous of her, sure, but something something negative to fuel the positive and something something he uses that to motivate him for his own races

he does local lower circuit races and is supremely accident prone that it doesnt even get his moms oil pressure up anymore carla just desensitized and tired after his 6th

carla does get more worked up about cruz's races and potential accidents because she feels an extra load of responsibility for her because she had made a promise to cruzs mom to take care of her best she could

and also her still rather backwards preconceptions that cruz is inherently more fragile than victor and pablo (she's old!)

victor works and helps out most with carla at the car wash and is a chronic workaholic it runs in the ramirez blood

his relationship with cruz is the most complicated and its very strained, theyre both very close in age only a few months apart (victor is older)

he's deeply deeply jealous and resentful of cruz for her newfound success in racing moreso than his brother's since for pablo, his racing is more of a hobby and cruz has managed to make it her career and he's sooo jealous

he's always been pretty perceptive when he was young, he knew he had a passion for racing but he also knew that it was unrealistic to try and persue it as a career

its always come from a place of love when he put cruz's dreams down, like he was doing her a favor so she could live a more satisfied and fulfilling life

and then she goes on national television and wins her first (technically, second) race ever?

and see he's perceptive and self aware so he knows he's being irrational and petty when he ignores cruz's calls those first few weeks and gets all snippy and accusatory at her for choosing fame over his family

he's been rather resentful since he was a child, losing their little play races more often than not, always being careful and hesitating over taking risks thinking its best for him but what did his caution ever get him?

eventually victor and cruz patch things up after a long while, like over the course of months of tense back and forths and words they didnt mean but couldnt take back

theyre still family after all but cruz can never quite see victor the same after that, she's never as comfortable or as happy with him and it's definetely affected the frequency of her visits to home and he knows it and blames himself for it
