a singular scuit. just one.Â
an edible cracker with just one side. mathematically impossible and yet here I am monching on it.
âscuitâ comes from the french word for âbakeâ, âcuireâ as bastardized by adoption by the brittish and a few hundred years âbiscuitâ meant âtwice-bakedâ, originally meaning items like hardtack which were double baked to dry them as a preservative measure long before things like sugar and butter were introduced. if you see a historical doccument use the word âbiscuitâ do not be fooled to think âbeing a pirate mustve been pretty cool, they ate nothing but cookiesâ - they were made of misery to last long enough to be used in museum displays or as paving stones
âtriscuitâ is toasted after the normal biscuit process, thrice baked thus the monoscuit is a cookie thats soft and chewy because it was only baked once, not twice
behold the monoscuit/scuit
Why is this called a biscuit:
when brittish colonists settled in the americas they no longer had to preserve biscuits for storage or sea voyages so instead baked them once and left them soft, often with buttermilk or whey to convert cheap staples/byproducts into filling items to bulk out the meal to make a small amount of greasy meat feed a whole family. considering hardtack biscuits were typically eaten by dipping them in grease or gravy untill they became soft enough to eat without breaking a tooth this was a pretty short leap of âjust dont make them rock hard if im not baking for the armyâ but didnt drop the name because its been used for centuries and people forgot its french for âtwice bakedâ back in the tudor era, biscuit was just a lump of cooked dough that wasnt leavened bread as far as they cared thus the buttermilk biscuit and the hardtack biscuit existed at the same time. âcookiesâ then came to america via german and dutch immigrants as tiny cakes made with butter, sugar/molasses, and eggs before âtea biscuitsâ as england knew them due to the new availability of cheap sugar- which is why âbiscuitâ and âcookieâ are separate items in america but the same item in the UK the evolution of the biscuit has forks on its family tree
I love it when a shitpost turns into an actually interesting post.

Sharing food with your Deities (how I do it)
There are many ways you can offer food to the gods but I never really see this specific method (which I used to use when I was super poor) and honestly, even though Iâm doing economically well, I still use this method as a bonding experience with me and the gods/spirits. I thought Iâd share it for those of you who might need it.
I grew up super poor and unable to waste food because I was doing witchcraft in secret and my mother would flip or my siblings would eat the food if I left food out. Still, I felt bad because all the witch books I was reading at the time (the 90s) said I had to have a physical altar (I later learned this is such BS because you can mentally have one if you canât physically aquire or keep one) and that I HAD to put food on it as an offering and later dig it in the Earth when it was done. (Very hard to do if you live in the city and can potentially be bad for the environment).
I was frustrated. I wanted to show the gods and spirits around me that I cared, that I was greatful for their protection and constant blessings. But with me being only able to get what I could from my mom because my mother couldnât afford to give us an allowance, there was nothing I could do, so I got creative.
I looked at my food and was silent for a bit. My mom was so proud because she assumed I was saying Grace in my head. In actuality, I touched my plate/bowl and imagined gold energy coming out of my finger tips. The gold engulfed the food and I mentally said:
âI offer the spiritual aspect of the food Iâm about to eat. I offer it to (say name/names of the gods and spirits. I visualized many copies of this food for all I was offering it to, so they can enjoy the meal I was about to eat.) You are also welcome to eat through me and taste what my tastebuds taste. I will only be consuming the physical portion of this food. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do and continue to do. I love you.â
Some spirits would take me on my offer to eat through me and I could feel their energy go inside me while I ate. It was a beautiful experience and one that I still practice for a few reasons:
1) It allowed me to continue working with these gods/spirits in private.
2) I didnât have to worry about what to do with the physical part of the food because I consumed it.
3) it was economically sound. As someone who was very poor and could only offer what I had, the spirits understood I was doing what I could. A lot of would be witches say they canât afford the food offerings because they have to buy extra food when their normal grocery bill already looks scary.
4) I could feel the spiritual energy during these offerings. It was like being in a euphoric state of mind and that felt like we were truly bonding. It also helped me be able to identify when my spirits were near and tell them all apart.
When I got older and had a job, I was able to afford buying extra offerings but it wasnât the same amazing experience. When I was getting rid of the food, I couldnât help but feel bad for âwastingâ it. (Something that was considered a terrible offense in my poor household.) I started to feel more and more disconnected with the spirits and before I knew it, the hectic aspects of life made it hard for me to remember to make extra for my altar so over time I stopped doing it altogether.
I find it easier for me to include the spirits in my daily life than make extra time for them because sometimes life has a way of keeping you away from your spiritual activities when it gets hectic.
Now, I do what I did when I was a kid. I interwove my gods and guides into my daily life and am experiencing magick like never before! I know some people will see this as super obvious but I felt it needed to be said for those who might need to see this.
I hope this helps and remember, no one has a right to say what is right for your craft but you! <3
Girl's Best Friend
My mom runs an animal shelter. I was there all the time as a kid, playing with the dogs and cats. Thatâs how I first met Boo and, in a way, Ginny. I was playing with the cats when I heard my mother talking to someone. I ran, excited to see, since I knew she was showing people dogs to adopt.
âAlicia!â My mom said brightly âThis is the Wheelers. I think you and their little girl, Ginny, go to school together.â
She gestured to the family standing behind her. There was a short, stocky man, a woman with light blonde hair and a little girl with strawberry blonde hair holding the womanâs hand. She was staring at the cages where the dogs were. She turned her head to look at me and I recognized her. She was really shy and kinda weird, always playing alone at recess, never really talking.

How to turn marble into Infinity Stone. According to the thread, this is called crazing. Heat it with the candle then douse it in cold water. Hopefully it will crack but not shatter. If youâre going to try this, prepare for possible explosions. Donât just assume the video gives you the exact method. Donât want anyone losing an eye!
Marbleâs Infinity War
Holy hell, off to buy some marbles
Hey witchblrs! Want a cool bottle with a working glass stopper?
If you are of drinking age, go to your nearest adult beverage establishment and purchase a bottle of Mi Mi rosĂŠ wine. Drink it if you like, or whatever.
If you are not of drinking age, ask a parent or older friend to do the above step for you, and claim the empty bottle and stopper.
Rinse the bottle. Peel the front, back, and neck stickers off slowly under warm to hot running water.
Deal with any remaining adhesive with a wee squirt of Goo Gone, and give the whole bottle a wash with hot soapy water.
Once youâre done washing, continue on into cleansing as suits your craft, and use for what need you have!
đŻ Honey Varieties đŻ
A short list of honey varieties in case you want to experiment with your recipes. Some have herbal remedy hints, and pairing ideas.
Acacia :Very popular with a mild flavor. The color is usually light yellow, but can range to brown or purple. Goes well with toast or tea. Medicinally, it is used to calm anxiety or help sleep.
Avacado :A warm, dark brown honey that is excellent for recipes that call for brown sugar. It doesnt actually taste like avocados, but mollasses or burned sugar.
Blueberry :Medium amber color with a medium aroma, blueberry honey tastes slightly buttery, with toasted almonds. Great for fruit pastries, itâs usually not difficult to find this variety.
Buckwheat :Dark brown, with a strong, distinct flavor of mollasses. A staple in southern BBQ recipes or other meats. Also used for coughs and sore throats.
Chesnut :This honey is usually too strong for recipes. It is very dark, with a slightly pungent smell and sweet, almost musty taste. Itâs quite unpopular, so it isnât easy to find.
Clover :Very common, known as âtable honeyâ, clover honey is a light, sweet honey that can be used universally.
Cranberry :Medium-red colored and fruity, it tastes like figs or dates. Use cranberry honey for fall fruit dishes.
Eucalptus :Suprisingly, eucalptus honey tastes sweet, with notes of rose petals. It smells strong, almost smokey, and is very dark in color. Goes well with meats or potatoes.
Forest :Also known as Honeydew honey, it is produced by aphid excretion from trees in the area, such as pine. It tastes woody and sweet, and pairs with just about anything.
Hawthorn :Hawthorn honey has a natural calming effect, so itâs usually stirred into chamomile tea. The flavor is strong so it doesnt take too much to sweeten.
Lavender :Ranging from bright to dark colors, the smell is intense just like the flowers. However one spoonful can help with seasonal allergies, and itâs a good source of calcium.
Mountain :Bees collect pollen from wild herbs and flowers in non-polluted mountain areas so the flavor and color can vary. Excellent for coughs and flu.
Orange Blossom :Light yellow with a mild floral smell, it is readily avalable in early spring when orange trees bloom. It has a sour citrus flavor, so it is best used in citrus recipes.
Rasberry :Rasberry honey is slightly bitter, but still tastes like brown sugar or toffee. It smells almost woodsy, and pairs well with fruits or especially coffee.
Sage :Sage honey tastes sweet with hints of rose petals. The color can be light yellow to purple, and it smells mildly floral. It also has a light violet aftertaste. It has so much body it is one of my favorites!
Sourwood :Slightly rare, itâs only available in June or July before its all bought up. It tastes a bit like cloves or nutmeg and smells like cinnamon.
Sunflower :As yellow as itâs petals and smells just as exceptional. It can crystallize easily, if that happens just heat up the jar in some hot water. It can help with sinus problems and allergies.
Tulip Poplar :Tulip Polar honey can be used for almost any dish. It is dark orange, and smells like cooked fruits. It tastes buttery like toffee and a bit like caramel.
Tupelo :Comes from the ogeechee tree in Florida and Georgia. It is slightly rare, and doesnât crystalize easily. Tastes light buttery and sweet, use with vegetable or chicken recipes.

why is the snow leopard âounceâ
Ounce is the traditional name for the snow leopard. Although not really in common use anymore it is still an acceptable alternative name for the species.Â
I assume since âsnow leopardâ wouldnât have fitted into the space it made sense for the person who made it to use ounce instead.Â
Thatâs a bunch of⌠cool cats đ

Stoner Witch Tips:
â¨Sharpie pen sigils on your lighter.
â¨Blow smoke into a jar to use in spell work.
â¨Little nugs as offerings to nature or your deities.
â¨Keep your ashes in a tightly closed container for spell work. (Do not breathe the ashy dust this creates*)
â¨Make sure you drink enough water, especially if you smoke heavily.
â¨Write sigils with your resin.
â¨After cleaning your pipe/ rig set it out in the moonlight.
â¨Make knot magic with hemp string.
â¨Say a chant or incantation as you blow the smoke out of your lungs and release it to the universe.
Poor child has to suffer cause his dad is an asshole who didnât let his baby mama have an abortion. This is why we need to talk more about reproductive justice
To all the guys who say abortion isnât fair because, âwhat if the guy wants to keep the baby?â Itâs just never good enough. You want to force women into carrying your child, then you want to force women to be part of that childâs life, even though they were very clear that they didnât want a child.
Itâs never enough. It starts with being forced to go through a pregnancy, then youâre forced to parent a child you never wanted because itâs not fair for the father to do all the work, pretty soon sheâll be a single mom because it turned out dad only liked the idea of a kid not the actual responsibility.
Freddie Mercury & Jim Hutton photographed with their cat Dorothy, 1980â˛s
When Freddie was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987, he offered Jim an exit on their relationship. He told Jim he would understand if he left. In a Freddie Mercury documentary, Jim recalls telling him, âI love you, Freddie - Iâm not going anywhere.â And he didnât; Jim stayed with Freddie until he died. He nursed him, cared for him, and was there when he took his last breath.

Bohemian Rhapsody was also directed by child predator Bryan Singer so it deserves every bad review itâs getting. ESPECIALLY when it has scenes like Freddie nonconsensually groping someone heâs in a position of power over as a start to their relationship, which SUPER didnât happen in real life and really is just Singer projecting his own nasty bullshit onto a dead, bisexual man
