The Gardener - Kraken Rafayel is my favorite, my friend and I put a lot of effort into this, making sure it'd be perfect for you guys when she knew how she would want it to go. I love this idea so much, sorry it took me so long to write it!
What you thought would be a nice cruise trip was not nice at all.
The ship you were on ended up being attacked during a storm. You could barely remember what happened, or how you ended up surrounded by darkness. All that came to mind was this voice, singing to you words you couldn't understand. Somehow you landed on the edge of the ship, soaked in rain and blinded by thunder. The waters were choppy, thrashing against the ship like it had personally angered the seas. Then something emerged from the water, the head of a man, blue eyes staring into your very soul with hatred and love. You had no idea what you had done to this creature or if it was the reason for the storm, and you could barely think about that when your brain was focused on survival. As the creature emerged more, revealing it's physique, the singing grew louder. You tried covering your ears, tried looking anywhere else than at the figure who was about to destroy your entire trip. Yet you couldn't look away, his beauty captured your eyes literally and figuratively. Turning your head would create a sharp pain in your chest, so you chose not to. Tentacles wrapped around the ship, scared screams of others were drowned out by the singing. You stood still, accepting your fate as the ship was being pulled under the waters. Your eyes squeezed shut, but all you could see was those blue eyes that were practically stabbing your heart.
"You are the sea god's bride..."
"Offer everything to me, mortal.."
You gasped, opening your eyes and reaching out towards the closest thing you could find. Your arms wrapped around something thick and slimy. Questioning the darkness around you was the last thing you wanted to do. You immediately tried to climb the thickness up to where you could see the flashes of lighting but your heart ached, and you stopped in your tracks. Those same blue eyes you saw before your supposed death came into view, and the creature opened it's mouth.
"You have angered me..mortal." It said, the thickness you held beginning to shake.
You held tighter, and the creature scoffed. "Let go of me, I'm not going to let you drown."
His incredibly large hand reached out and grabbed you, he could crush you in his fist if he wanted to. He held you close to his eyes, looking you up and down as if assessing your very being. "My bride." He whispered, his tone filled with awe. He cleared his throat, "Our bond allows you to breathe, we're underwater if you..didn't know."
His voice was beautiful, every word vibrated in your body. It was like his words could kill you and make love to you at the same time, no matter what he said you felt the need to do it.
A red mark began glowing on his chest, a symbol you couldn't identify but felt familiar.
You wanted to speak, to ask him who he was and what was happening, but his presence alone was distracting you. The attraction you felt to him spiritually was enough to take your breath away, enough to stop you from speaking. Your entire body and mind felt like it was his in this moment, and his alone.
The name left your throat before you could stop it, lips parting to allow the sound to escape.
His eyes widened, and his fingers twitched while you lied in his palm. "My bride," He said, more of a sigh than a word. "Oh my bride.." He brought you closer, a tentacle wrapping around your figure as he moved his hand. The texture was weird, but not unwelcome. He groaned, eyes closing to try and relish the way you had called for him. "Say it..say my name again."
He opened his eyes, that same blue now welcoming you. The tentacle that held you held you tighter, "Do you remember?" He whispered, his body starting to go towards the bottom of the seas.
You shook your head, terrified but feeling safe in the beast's grasp. The area around you began to light up as a school of fish swam by, a whale let out it's call and coral began to fill your vision.
The man began to shrink to size. He was still bigger than you, but now small enough that you could wrap your arms around him if you wanted. He held you by your waist, his tentacles turning into legs as the sea brightened. One hand reached up and cupped your cheek, his glowing blue eyes turned into blue and pink pearls that were looking at you with a new warmth.
His ears were a pretty pink that only an artist could describe with the most romantic of names. He looked at you like he loved you, like the currents were moving for you. A school of fish passed by the two of you again, and his hand trailed from your cheek to your hand. His webbed fingers curled around your hand, he hummed at how warm you were. He seemed much more open to answering questions now.
"Who are you?" You asked, despite the familiar ache in your chest that recognized him.
"I'm Rafayel, you said my name, no?" He smiled, his feet finally touching the sand, which lead you to do the same.
Now that you two were on some form of land, you could see just how big he was — your head at his abdomen — and you finally got a once over of this man.
He was beautiful, just as you thought before. Purple hair with a blue gradient that reached his lower back, blue-pink eyes that invited you, pink lips that were begging to be kissed. And that was just his face. His body was covered in muscle, biceps that flexed under your gaze, abs that you felt the desire to trace..and his legs, he could squeeze you with his thighs and you'd thank him.
You cleared your throat, finally looking at him again after checking him out. His cheeks were pink, but he laughed. "Is something wrong with my physique? Or are you enjoying it too much?" He brought a hand to his hair, fixing his bangs with a sweet smile.
"The latter. Regardless..that's not what I meant. I meant your relationship with me. Why am I..here..?" You looked around, a whale calling out in the distance.
"Hm." He averted his gaze for a moment, as if thinking of an answer that would scare you. He brought your hand to his chest, placing it above his heart, and your eyes flashed.
Everything came to you all at once.
"Tomorrow's blessing will be for everyone, but tis only yours at this moment."
"The Sea Gods heart, mine heart. Dost thou want it?"
"The place you hold in my heart far outweighs this little scale."
"No, I refuse to accept this betrayal!"
The last words made you shiver too hard, and you pulled your hand away from him. Your body convulsed and for a moment it felt like you would faint.
Rafayel immediately caught you as your legs gave out, arms wrapping around your waist. "My bride!" He gasped, trying to see if you were still conscious.
When your eyes fluttered open from their half lidded state, he sighed, helping you back to your feet. "Are you.." His words trailed off, and he held you tighter against him.
"Let's rest..you need it."
