These Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies use applesauce to add moisture and natural sweetness to traditional oatmeal cookies. Perfectly spiced and deliciously chewy!
Ingredients: 1 cup applesauce. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries optional.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar should all be mixed together in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Add the applesauce and mix it in until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add the oats, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, and salt to a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing only until everything is well combined. You can add the raisins or dried cranberries if you want to. Place cookie dough spoonfuls on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving about 2 inches between each one. Put it in an oven that is already hot and bake it for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. As a treat, enjoy these tasty oatmeal cookies with applesauce.
