I just randomly remembered a conversation I had with a friend where I was encouraging him to go home because he was sick and it somehow got onto the topic of how I'm basically allowed to skip school whenever. He was kind of getting on my case about how I just leave class sometimes, and that was fine with me. But then he started getting on my mom's case about how he lets me just stay home whenever I don't want to go to school. And I didn't say anything, but it's like, I am severely mentally ill?? You (the friend) KNOW I am severely mentally ill?? I leave class sometimes because I'm trying to prioritize my health and well-being over attendance?? And my mom just wants to take care of me?? My mom is trying to keep me alive and as healthy as possible??
Every day that I go to school is one I chose to attend, and it's not often that I truly do not want to go. When I really don't want to go to school it's because something is truly wrong, and my mom understands that and doesn't want to push me into a crisis??
TLDR: My mom is NOT a bad parent for letting his mentally ill child skip school sometimes and I am not a bad person for leaving classes when I'm overwhelmed
#also: foreman shows emotion throughout the show idek where this take comes from because are we even talking about the same guy? #most if not all the foreman hate I see is just repackaged racism
They way this actually happens so much in real life: repackaging quiet autistic black girls into the labels of "bitchy" or "arrogant" when their white counterparts would get labeled as "shy" or "reserved", it's crazy how racist people can get and refuse to acknowledge their biases
