Made me so upset since I am also a SA victim and it hurts to see people dismiss that
I don’t follow any of the people you mentioned, and I don’t think I’ve seen many posts from them either, so I couldn’t say which specific posts they made. But thank you for letting me know so I can steer clear of them in the future. It’s frustrating that people in the fandom are minimizing something as serious as SA, especially when it comes to Rhysand’s character. Regardless of opinions on him, it’s important to acknowledge his trauma and not erase or invalidate that part of the story.
I’m also so sorry for what you’ve been through. It’s incredibly sad that some people can’t see outside of the books and understand the real-life implications of these issues. Fiction can reflect reality, and when we dismiss that, it can be hurtful to those who’ve experienced it. Thank you again for the heads-up, and I’ll definitely keep an eye out to avoid those who are spreading this narrative.
Well, my friends @viktoriaashleyyx and @booksnwriting were tagged in this and I checked all sources to make sure I didn't blame anyone, and I have something to say.
They never invalidated anything, they said using sexual assault as a shield for any consequences is wrong, which it is. Just because something horrible happens to you, doesn't excuse your horrible actions.
And this is coming from someone who was a victim of DV for 14 CONSECUTIVE YEARS, and witness their father get SA'ed by their mother. That doesn't mean I can sexually assault another person, just because of my trauma.
Multiple serial killers have a traumatic past or horrible familial backgrounds, that doesn't excuse what they've done.
But if they did blame rhysand for what happend or if they said rhysand "enjoyed" it or "wanted" it. Then yes, they'd be in the wrong. But they didn't say that.
I ride at dawn for my friends, but when I know they're in the wrong I won't defend them. BUT IN THIS CASS THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING REMOTELY ACUSOTORY OR VICTIM BLAMING😭

I definitely agree with you that sexual assault isn’t a shield for bad choices, and it’s important to hold characters accountable for their actions. That being said, if this Anon was blindly accusing people or stirring up unnecessary drama, then that’s completely wrong. You’re absolutely right, and I truly appreciate you pointing this out. You don’t sound rude at all, and I completely understand where you’re coming from. That’s why I initially said, “I couldn’t say which specific posts they made,” because the anon had only provided one link for one person, and I didn’t have enough context to verify everything. However, I realize now that I should have taken the time to do my own fact-checking instead of just reacting based on the information I was given. That’s on me, and I take full accountability for that mistake.
I want to sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been affected by this. It was absolutely not my intention to cause harm, spread misinformation, or make anyone feel misrepresented. I should have been more careful and mindful of how I approached the situation, especially given the sensitive nature of the discussion. I’m really sorry for any confusion or frustration this has caused, and I’ll do my best to be more thorough in the future.

Why cant this fandom be normal. Dismissing that a character got r.ped is gross and such nasty behavior. You don’t have to like the character but stop blaming SA victims.
