as a woman, I'm really sick of the "good for her" and "she became boring once she became a wife/mother/whatever" narrative that people are trying to throw into stories anymore, or that the fandom tries to feed us if the book/movie/show doesn't give us that narrative.
I hate that most retellings of centuries-old works have to be feminist, and openly so; I can hardly find a piece that focuses on the men in a healthy way, or that doesn't give them other attributes that were never there in the first place just to make them marketable to a modern American audience.
I hate that most television enthusiasts claim that the worst thing that happened to the fun-loving, carefree female character was that she accidentally got pregnant, CHOSE TO KEEP THE KID, and stayed in a loving, happy relationship. yes, some television makes the characters boring after they have a kid (see also: season ten erica goldberg), and that's not fair to them. women can still be fun and interesting after having kids, whether or not tv markets it that way and makes fans believe it's the only way to be cool.
I hate that "women's wrongs" is a thing we are supporting, encouraging even, to the point where anytime a man so much as has a slight freudian slip, fans root for the female to divorce/hurt/kill him, unless he happens to be just sexy, cute, or angsty enough that tumblr goes fucking ballistic anytime someone says anything bad about him.
I am proud to be a woman, and proud of what I am able to do now thanks to the feminist movements of the past. But just because I'm happy I can work, wear pants, and vote, doesn't mean that I want or need modern feminism spoon-fed to me and consequently shoved down my throat. not all men are good, but just about every single man I have ever met has been so much better than women paint them to be. treat them that way, even in fiction. not all moms are fun, but no woman fully loses her whole personality just because she has a baby. sometimes, it grounds a person better than anything else ever has. other times, it was the exact piece she was missing all of her life. motherhood is not for everyone, but it's not equivalent to death as many people seem to believe.

in your love story, money may be a big issue between you and your future spouse. your relationship may jeopardize your or their career, or may affect your or their money with regard to how you or they are financially supported by family or the government.
some particular examples come to mind. one, your workplace may have a strict policy against relationships so you have to choose between being together or staying on in this organisation. two, one or both of you may be a public figure and going public may negatively your or their image. three, one or both of you may be disabled or receiving a grant which keeps you from being married because marriage will make you no longer eligible for this grant. four, your or their family may pressure you to break up or else they will stop providing financial support.
you may feel as if all the odds are stacked against you, as if even the universe doesn’t want you together. as if your love is just not meant to be.
you will have to keep your relationship for some time. with one of you likely marrying some family-approved person, even if you still keep loving each other and seeing each other in private.
