Love the raw emotions we got to see from Lisbon and Jane in S7. Lisbon’s bravery never ceases to impress me, whether she rushes into a house that is ablaze to save her loved one, something that she never thinks twice, something that she does out of her humanity and what she’s expected to do because it’s her job and because it also comes naturally and she can’t do it any other way. Or when she exposes her heart and lets Jane see what’s in it, what’s been there for years, kept there as the most precious thing it is, just like his beloved cup, with her never really letting go, despite moments of sheer hopelessness, despite her attempt to move on without the man she loves. She is not afraid to seem weak, revealing something that was only hers for so long. Or when she finally says what’s hurting her, when she lets her fear and anxiety or insecurity dominate her, and is frank with Jane. I think all these make him even more attracted to her, drawn to her courage, falling for the person she is and has come to be once more.

And later on, when they got together, what Jane said on the plane got an even more acute meaning for both of them. In the end, the fear of not seeing the face of the loved one and living through the difficulties together was stronger than the fear of losing each other to the unforeseen. They both know that their current state of being in love is a risk in itself that makes them more exposed to suffering, and involves worries, even if everything is cloudless and romantic, but they’ve grown up enough to value each other over their own interests or selfishness or self-protection. I love how S7 showed us this growth.
