i was going to leave this blank as i’ve too many conflicting responses and thoughts on it to write anything, or at least anything that wouldn’t take up my whole afternoon doing so. but then in leaving it blank i saw just how pat and tumblr-ready the image i posted (and really every bit of the movie if taken as stills, divorced from sound, motion, the film as a whole) was and how much of an injustice that is to the film and what it carries. this was a hard thing to watch. it was also a hard thing to learn of how it was made.
