The ability to have nice conversations with strangers and especially store employees will save your everyday life from greyness

You need friends older than you to help check your perspective and you need friends younger than you to expose you to new ideas and ways of doing things and you need friends your own age who understand what it's like to be your age at this point in time to commiserate with you.
