for jotaro, its da fact avdol outwit him and proved to jotaro dat he knew what he was talkin about. jotaro wouldnt have left dat cell if not for avdol and dats da only reason why jotaro agrees to follow joseph.

and dis continues after in da n'doul fight. jotaro follows avdols example and only gets to n'doul from da same technique avdol used.

joseph is family, jotaro feels like he has to protect him. polnareffs acts more like a child and jotaro doesn't rely on him cus of dat. avdol is da only adult in sdc dat keeps calm in stressful situations and offers a path for jotaro to follow if he wants to. avdol doesn't push jotaro at all either.

kakyoins relationship wit avdol is similar, avdol is trustworthy, avdol understands what its like to be alone for such a long time. i dont think avdol rlly had anyone to go to, he literally owns a shop alone and never mentions actually havin friends or family before sdc. kakyoin can confide in avdol and get good advice. dey have a mutual understandin but avdol knows he has to be reliable.

polnareff and joseph dont have da same relationship with jotaro and kakyoin dat avdol does. like at first kakyoin thinks he can trust joseph but joseph acts like everything is a fuckin game so...
