year one i was not in the mood to go out and remember thinking “who cares” and he was like “uhhh i very much cared and missed you wtf” and i was like ohhhh shit

year two - after having been teased and given endless (totally fine, affectionate even) shit over not attending i was all “put me in coach!!” and then just hit a slump where i actually made a defensive retreat into my shell (apartment) and it could not be helped and i felt GOD AWFUL

and like idk i feel like it’s bad to say “hey im not coming!!” like unless it’s catered i just feel like the main person should NOT be thinking anything other than happy thoughts so i just ghosted and didn’t talk to him for a week and because we work at the same company (lol) saw him this week and i was like “[Y/N] im so sorry i just fell into a fucking emotional and psychological void between [redacted] and [redacted]” and this fucking guy… this motherfucking keeper of every single faux pas i’ve ever made in my life— guess who all of a sudden is like “oh my god i literally didn’t realize you weren’t there!”
