I was extremely bored during class and made a lil doodle from the university AU. I think Thorin definitely fell first but also the hardest lol, while Bilbo was mostly getting very mixed signals and thought Thorin hated his guts at first. I was going through references for dwarven clothes and stumbled upon those little hats dwarflings wear and i couldn't help myself but imagine Dwobbit Frodo wearing one. Then i ended up with a whole outfit lol. I wanted to make two variants. One for winter, explaining why Frodo is wearing boots, and another one for less colder seasons. I also wanted to depict the duality of his character, where he's a very sweet and a little bit shy boy and where he's acting more boisterous and adventurous! His design is still under development and i plan on adding more details!

Also i just cant not draw Thorin ugly crying whenever he sees his son (he understands Gloin more now)

tonight I'll watch the hobbit with my mom, i couldn't be more happy ngl

While Bilbo is highly literate in Common and Elvish script, Dwarven runes confuse him. Thorin takes it upon himself to teach him. He sits behind Bilbo at his grand library desk, guiding Bilbo's hand with his own to ink the sharp, geometric lines of the runes. Thorin starts by teaching him simple words like "gold," "iron," and "home." However, Bilbo notices that Thorin often makes him write a specific sequence of runes over and over. When Bilbo later asks Ori for the translation, Ori giggles and reveals it spells out: "The beloved treasurer of the King"
