Q. Why is Tim/Steph, Dick/Barbara, or (x) ship not included?
A. Generally, ships like Jason/Steph and Dick/Steph are more common in batcest circles than batfamily ones, while Tim/Steph is a popular ship everywhere (and therefore with antishippers). The same goes for Dick/Barbara. I am not particularly interested in arguing about what counts as 'batcest' or not, but anything under bat x bat counts within this blog.
Additionally, some ships are excluded for not being very popular, such as Dick with Cass, Damian with Cass, and Duke with Dick, Barbara, or Steph. However, if more work including any of these ships becomes available (and that I've read) they are easily able to be added. Something about this is that for a few ships here already, there are very few works (Such as for Barbara/Any of the boys besides Dick) but to exclude them would be excluding too many ships in these parameters for that character.
Q. Why are author's tags changed in your posts?
A. A major point of this is to avoid any exclusively bat-f/mily blogs to stumble upon this blog. I use only the character's first names, and delete the last names within the tags. Similarly, tags I'm concerned might trigger tumblr's sensitive mature warning sensors are changed — such as non-con, dub-con, NC-17.
Some fics have little additional tagging at all, especially some of the older ones, and so I add essential or more descriptive information so you know intially what is within it.
Q. Why do you say this is for archival purposes?
A. As each fic is posted, I keep each one downloaded as an EPUB in a separate account as well. This is purely for in the case any of these fics are deleted, and will not be shared unless explicitly asked to be seen by a trusted individual in that scenario (in private DMs). These are for personal use. They are not meant to be re-uploaded or shared publicly by anyone besides the author.
Q. Why do you include a comment?
A. It's fun, and easy to do. When posting these, you keep in mind that it's likely for some authors to see them, and you always want them to feel appreciated for their work. Plus, I see it as adding to the charm of the blog! You get to see me huff and puff over sweet, sweet batcest.
Note: Any recommended fic posted on this blog is guaranteed to be read by me - due to this, they may adhere to my particular tastes most of the time (*though my tastes are fairly diverse) but I encourage anybody to send in links via asks to fics you feel may deserve to be read more and appreciated! (It doesn't guarantee they will be posted immediately, I recommend sending it to my main blog @excerpto).
