The Future of JST
It’s time to have…that conversation.
3 years ago, I started JST out of boredom and an affinity for pink armor. I genuinely love this blog and so many fantastic people who follow it - I never expected to have as many followers (over 13,000 of you!) and honestly the outpouring of positive support and feedback from you guys over my silly little meme blog has been nothing short of spectacular. I never expected to have such great conversations with people and bond over this game series we all love. Thank you.
And now here’s where I have to get to the hard part. I’m sure you’ve probably noticed the blog has been posting less and less frequently. There’s a few reasons:
I find myself able to devote less time to the blog than I used to be able to. (this is the big one)
Submissions have slowed down drastically (note: not blaming you guys, I’ve also run out of ideas)
Tumblr activity overall seems to have gone down the last few years, at least in my corner of the internet.
Let’s face it - after 3 years, posting 3 times a day, this blog has covered just about everything that Shepard can and can’t do in the games.
For that reason, I’m sad to say but I think JST will be fading away. I won’t be deleting anything on the blog, just expect to see fewer and fewer posts, and don’t be surprised if they stop altogether. I also will leave the scheduled coffeehouse posts to publish so you can still engage with them, but I will not accept asks for them as I just don’t have the time anymore to be online monitoring the inbox. I have a nice chunk of JSTs sitting in the inbox that I’ll still go live, but if you submit one and it never makes it to the blog…all I can say is sorry.
JST is my baby - and as long as tumblr is still online, the blog will still be up as an archive. But I want to be honest with you guys and not just drop off the face of the earth with no explanation. It’s been a hell of a run, but I think it’s time for me to move on.
3 years, 3 games and Shepard still dies... Thanks for a great run and some amazing laughs!
