I was wondering if you could recommend a good start for learning palworld modding. I have an idea for (what I assume and hope will be) a simple mod, but I'm lost as to where to start. Thank you

For most kinds of mods you'll probably want to start by learning about PalSchema. They have lots of documentation, and you can also check the Palworld Modding Wiki or the Palworld Modding Discord to learn more about modding in general.

PalSchema is basically the bread and butter of mod making, it lets you change like 70% of all data in the game using JSON, which is extremely big for anyone who isn't trying to make the mod of the century. And learning PalSchema entails learning a lot about Palworld's internal data structures which will be very useful in larger modding endeavors.

More importantly PalSchema requires 0 setup, just make a mod folder, open notepad++ or (if you're feeling extra) Visual Studio, and start writing.

I keep scrolling past adorable posts from pokemon fans that are like "look at my cute little guy/girl/creature in ZA" and I think pokemon should be taking notes.

Objectively speaking, pals are a gazillion times more photogenic and lively animation wise. Things like that are why the game sticks, even if its popularity is largely derived from the meme of "HAHA POKEMON WITH GUNS". You come for the monkey holding an assault rifle and you stay because the butterfly looks so lifelike as it does its silly dance.

But also look at this cutie!!! She wants to help me build a giant primarina pixel art but the pixel art requires 0 butterflies so she just floats there with this joyous expression

...I think it's just a bit bugged out because I keep leaving and entering the base and her pathing can't find a way down so she's just kind of doing weird ghost tasks and then suddenly stopping and the animation controller gets confused but isn't it adorable?

The importance of AI image denoising in blender render previews cannot be understated! This is from a very awesome upcoming project, but only 100 "samples" (of 4096) have been computed.

Same number of samples, but with denoise. It's not really perfect, in place of simply having more samples, but it does make working on the scene in render preview a lot easier

Anyway, I think the face is legendary, and I'm very excited to share the full thing later

Been thinking about this and I think I've come to a conclusion that AI simply has no "exciting" uses. It has lots of mundane uses. The image denoising. Better quick selection. I saw something for topology correction though it's still experimental I think. Autocomplete in programming is pretty neat and AI makes it smarter now. It's not very flashy nor does it really affect anyone's lives, but it does work. Usually. It's trying its best. ChatGPT is a bit of a waste of time but his nameless cousins who silently upgraded our software the past 20 years are pretty nifty. The shareholders do not like that the nameless "AI" are the ones that will probably stay so I think this eventuality still pleases me :3

Usually, when a character has no visible mouth, I tend to adhere to that, and keep them mouthless in my art too... but Sectonia is one of the exceptions to that rule, and it's solely because I quite enjoy drawing her smiling 🐝✨

Officially, Pocketpair recommends but does not require the creation of a new save for their 1.0 release I seriously doubt very many people plan to listen, a lot of them are going to read nothing, load their lv65 save, get their Jetragon or Xenolord, and beeline for the tree
