re-imagining oriana into asoiaf's universe is so rough for me because she was a pc for d&d originally, and rethinking that in terms of the world of westeros, i don't think she really properly fits anywhere. she's more likely to see the nonsense happening and dip out, has no political ambitions of her own and she would want to know the nearest ship leaving westeros and hop on. if anything, i can see her as a figure similar to thjazi in that universe in that she makes a name for herself in a major battle or rebellion that gets quashed, and lives on in infamy after that because she never learns to bend the knee to the noble houses. a folk hero of sorts with a sort of tragic end because for as long as she lives, she'd never stop rebelling.

okay but now i'm thinking ... oriana probably originally coming from yi ti (the one asian based culture in the entirety of westeros ans ofc it's inspired by ancient china), family were still hunters of sorts but also merchants so they could travel freely? thinking something happens in similar fashion to her family attempting to kill strahd (in my head, a necromancer in asshai) happens and she's stuck in asshai for god knows how long. she kills strahd in. the same manner and a few what would be considered hags there, so her reputation in asshai is similar to the one she develops in her main verse (hag slayer, hunter of dark things etc etc). somehow finds passage out of asshai, but instead of returning to yi ti gets stuck in westeros. obviously sticks out like a sore thumb, reputation follows her, maybe she finds a way to train as a knight with someone or something. more likely ends up in a company of fighters or a mercenary (think june in avatar the last airbender). instead of a regular westerosi horse, she has a yi ti horse (think of a chinese war horse. or even a massive komodo dragon) as a mount. basically if you want someone found and assassinated off the books and fast, it's oriana you look for (if she doesn't take you out herself).
