Essentially, I was using a gmail account as the contact email for an Ao3 collection for a fandom event that i run and google in all it's infinite stupididy decided to flag it as a child (I am an adult, RIP) and then refused to see reason.
getting flagged means:
you cant send feedback about issues anymore
it messes with safe search settings
cant see anything age restricted on youtube
get told to take breaks on youtube
and other bullshit i am sure
it wants your ID, credit card, or photo to prove you're an adult (which doesnt even work sometimes)
anyway! google also uses your date to train their AIs so that's also a good reason to leave them, in addition to the tangle of issues with age verification (it's invasive, and bad for the internet. i mean that.)

Because Tumblr is very English speaking and some ppl like France a little too much I just want to remind you of a few things:

No matter how shitty it might feel in the moment, most of the time when someone comes to you to communicate a boundary or a need or a negative feeling about something you did, it is actually a compliment. They are telling you BECAUSE they care about you and want it to work between you and because they trust you to care to do better. If they didn't care about you, they'd just avoid you. That uncomfortable convo is in fact a declaration of love and trust. Or at least intention of friendship. If they didn't like you, they'd just try to avoid you whenever possible.
