How in the heck did you get the picture of Barbara yawning? I can never catch Beverly in time when she does the yawns, but I see so many people with pictures of their ball pythons yawning. O:
The one I posted here I think I just got by chance, but I think the best tip I could give for capturing those cute yawns would be to have your camera ready after they've eaten! Barbara almost always "yawns" to correct her jaw after she's had a meal!!

This little goof ball is getting so big!! She still loves to explore piles of blankets though, there are just so many little wrinkles and pathways to slither through!

I'M BACK!! After a hiatus that was far too long, I think I'm going to start posting on this blog again. Barbara finished a perfect shed last night!! She isn't very nice about her sheds though, she always bunches the skin into a compact little nugget so I never get to stretch them out nicely. Maybe someday I'll get a good one that I can show off!!
Paper bags are tons of fun!!! She decided she wanted to hide after being weighed today, she came in at 690 grams! I can't believe how much she's been growing, she's going to be quite the large lady some day.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Here are some shots of Barb sitting on a turntable, but I'm realizing now how ironic these pictures are considering that she doesn't have ears! I also feel like I messed up since I didn't schedule her feeding in a way that would allow her to eat on Thanksgiving. Maybe next year!

Barbara finished her shed just in time for Halloween! That means its time for some fun observations.
The 3 circular images above are pictures I took of one of Barbara’s shed scales through a microscope! From top to bottom, the images are magnified 100X, 300X, and 600X. I don’t have the nicest microscope, so sorry the last picture is a little out of focus, but I just think it’s super cool how in the 300X and 600X zoomed images you can really see the individual cells!! Now if only I had some proper stains so we could get a look at the insides of the cells….

Wow your's looks so nice!! My microscope is a cheap one from when I was a kid and I took the pictures by holding my phone camera to the eye piece so my pictures never come out great. Thanks for the addition to this post!!

Is Barbara named after the girl in Stranger Things?
Oh good question, one of my friends actually asked me this same thing!! It's actually based loosely off of the Gundam Barbatos from the series Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. I just finished season one around the time I got her and I decided that if when I got her sexed she was female her name would be Barbara, and if male his name would have been Barbatos! She turned out to be a lady though, and a lovely one at that! Thanks for the ask!

Barbara’s enclosure got a full clean and redecoration today!
I think she might shed within the next few weeks, her colors are getting so dark lately
After seeing the movie IT, I decided to read the book, but poor Barbara thinks books are scary!! It's ok Barb, this isn't a good book for kids anyways.
