So moreover with The Sniffer In Minecraft, the Sniffer is an ancient, passive mob that wanders around sniffing the ground to dig up rare, ancient seeds. So why not have it be able to dig up fossils like the giant ones or example dig up fossils remains of new mobs. Or heck say using its fur or breath in potions could turn mobs into their more prehistoric variants.

Sniffer [Six Legged Stance]
I saw a video talking about the "bad design" of the Sniffer but it was entirely just talking about the game design of the Sniffer and not the actual character design. There's some good points, but also they're points where you can sort of trivially fix them with mods that I just kind of feel like giving love back to the Sniffer again
If there's one function I'd really like to see Sniffers given, it's the ability to dig up sherds so it's item pool is widely expanded on w/o really much effort, but that might introduce it's own set of problems so
